We had a lovely meal this evening. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sole was excellent. The ambience was enhanced by the beautiful piano playing in the background. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely go again.

Nothing to dislike, had cod and chips with minted mushy peas. Good platefull, and very tasty with a glass of Sauvignon blanc and bread and butter.

It is a pity this place is rather hidden away but it is well worth seeking out. It has a bar for pre-meal drinks, a good place to mingle before going to the table. It used to have plastic tie back walls on the outside area but it is now a substantial conservatory with slide back large windows, a great... More

This was our first experience of The Wharf. Having booked, we were greeted by our waiter, Agron, who showed us to our table by the window (lovely view) and gave excellent service throughout. We had the set menu which had plenty of choice and was £22 for three courses. It was nicely cooked, promptly served and very well presented. There... More

My daughters brought me here today for afternoon tea. It was lovely. The sandwiches were substantial and tasty, the scones light and nearly as good as my mum's - high praise I can assure you. The miniature cakes were a good selection, the only downside was deciding who would have which macaron! The choice of different teas is very good,... More

Perhaps over expectation - but last time (quite a while ago) this restaurant delivered a really great upmarket experience (as befits the price) and we thought to recreate for a an overdue anniversary dinner. Admittedly it was Saturday - and busy - but no shortage of team - just they all seemed scruffy, frenetic and very 'wine bar' now. Waited... More

I visited the Wharf last Saturday evening for dinner with a girlfriend. When we arrived around 7.30 pm we experienced the tail end of a rather loud and drunken wedding party but they soon dispersed and peace reigned! We had a lovely cocktail in the bar and as I was driving we only drank fizzy water with the meal. I... More

We needed a table for 20 people for a lunchtime family occasion. The Wharf booking staff were very helpful and suggested a large table in their riverside conservatory which was perfect. The atmosphere on Sunday lunchtime was lively enough to absorb our large family group without making us feel self-conscious. All had 3 courses and everybody was impressed with quality,... More

We have been many times to The Wharf and it is consistently good. The menu has so many nice things on it, we always struggle to choose what to have which is a good sign. Good variety of choices, but recently the lobster is great value and the burger is always great too.
