I come from 'down south' and we have pretty good fish & chips here. But these topped them all! They definitely deserved their award last year - shame they didn't feature in this year's best fish & chips awards.... :-)

Expectations were high due to recommendations/reports of their awards/good press and my own wait to visit (it is not within walking distance of home and there is no food allowed in the car) we had sausage and chips and stood in the unexpected sun outside. Expectations were met as the food was superb! They are very organised in the store... More

The food quality is superb. People will complain about parking and queue times and there is a reason for that....because they are so good. It's not queue advisor or parking advisor! If you want good quality fish and chips and prepared to wait and park, then look no further. BTW, the portions are huge!!

Came here because they served gluten free fish and chips for my coeliac daughter. A bit of a trek but was definitely worth the walk. She polished the lot off!! Very efficient service. Only negative is there is nowhere to sit and eat them

We went to "149" at the recommendation of the B&B in Bridlington were we were staying. I must say that the food was excellent, however they were very busy, and so we had to queue for quite a while, and before we got into the shop we found it difficult to park as the square outside the shop was full,... We live in Bridlington. Recently my son was 30 and, as we had organised a celebration for a few days later, we had a meal together on his birthday. His choice was fish and chips and champagne. I have to say that the fish and chips from 149 were the ideal choice to go with a chilled Veuve Cliquot he... More

The staff were very friendly and chatty while we waited for our fish and chips to be cooked. The portions are quite large and we couldn't eat all our chips but they were good and well cooked. the large fish was very good and the batter light and crispy. We will go there again when we are in Bridlington and... More

Opening times advertised are 24hours. I went Sunday at 8.30p.m and guess what - yes you got it CLOSED. Well I wouldn't give them the smell off my next portion which I will buy elsewhere. Sorry 149 but if you can't have opening times you can stick to you can stick your fish and chips. I know losing my custom... More
