Really really good chip shop, definitely worth a visit. Not surprised they were voted number 1, it's great :-)

We had fish, chips and mushy peas back at the Caravan which were freshly cooked and the batter was great. We were so hungry after the ride there and our supper hit the spot!

Just a small shop but wow!! We had cod and chips and they were brilliant.Light crispy batter and pure white fish with gorgeous chips all in a box what more could you wish for. They even tell you who caught the fish and who is cooking it!! Very clean and attractive shop -- do not miss it if you are... More

What can I say about 149, we could tell it was good by the que, worth the wait made to order, beautiful thick white haddock, plenty of chips could have a meal deal if wanted, they were yummy. Best of all The Staff: friendly efficient and full of smiles, will now be our local fish shop when in Bridlington. Makes... More

This place served some of the nicest fish and chips we have ever had. Everything is cooked fresh, and the portions are huge. The other stuff they do (chicken, sausage etc) is also very tasty. There isn't much parking nearby but you are in and out quite quickly so we didn't find that a problem. Staff friendly. Would recommend

We came here especially on its reputation. The fish and chips were just average in fact the batter on the fish was slightly undercooked. Don't get me wrong the fish and chips were okay I was just expecting something fabulous.

I am in search of the uk's best fish and chip shop so obviously I was excited to see this place on my travels up the east coast this summer. 149 has own awards including the best fish and chip shop of 2011. On arrival there is a good clear sign with some cute plants around to spruce it up.... More

Used to be the best but sadly they no longer are. The taste and quality of the fish and chips has deteriorated since the previous owner (who won the national award) left. The service is poor, one girl in particular spends too much time talking and not enough time either taking orders or serving customers. As a consequence, I am... More

We had a recommendation for this place, and had heard good reviews and thought we'd try it out. Maybe because of the hype we had expected amazing things, but I don't think it was any better than our local fish and chip shop. The staff were very friendly though.
