We visit the Rowan Tree every time we go to Bridlington from Newcastle and have never been disappointed. The cafe is now under new ownership and the new owners are seeking to carry on and improve the provision of gluten free options on their menus. We will be back again when we holiday in Bridlington in July.

I first visited the Rowan Tree when it it had the shop next door, quirky decor and a beautiful garden out the back. The shop and the decor are long gone and the garden a shadow of it's former self. The food was pretty average cafe food, no complaints but nothing to set it apart from the other 50 similar... More

Don't know what the lady was Talking about but we came into the rowan tree today and the food was fantastic , excellent customer service and it was full when I arrived and also full when I left. The homemade cakes looked to die for and will be returning at a later date to have a coffee and piece of... More

This used to be my favourite cafe, especially for homemade cakes and the odd veggie treat, in Brid. We had heard it had new owners so decided on a visit. At 12.45pm it was empty - where it would normally be full of regulars. It felt like it had had the life and "quirkiness" sucked out of it! Bland menu,... More

After hearing a couple of people moaning now that The Rowan tree has been taken over (like they do in Brid) we thought we would go and try ourselves as we enjoyed the food & place with the previous owners. Must say I have not a clue what these people are talking about! I had my usual bacon sandwich and... More

The place to go for an indulgent treat. Plenty of homemade goodies to choose from. The blueberry and lemon cake is delicious and moist. The only downside is sometimes they are unexpectedly closed and there is nowhere close by to satisfy sweet cravings!

Found this lovely quaint little cafe while in Bridlington on a windy cold December day. Lovely and warm inside. Very quirky little place with excellent reasonably priced food, an a very good cup of tea. Would definitely visit again if we are in Bridlington

Really pleased to find a cafe which can cater for my Gluten and Dairy free diet, in fact can cater for every type of diet and with a smile too! Nothing was too much trouble, friendly helpful staff only too happy to check ingredients if unsure, very reassuring. Would definitely revisit when next in Bridlington!

Visited this lovely little place this week, which could of easily been missed. I had a full english, which wasn't the biggest iv had but one of the tastiest. £5.50 with a massive pot of tea. the Mrs had one of the daily specials which she loved. Definitely worth a visit.

This cafe caters brilliantly for people who have to follow a gluten free and dairy free diet, as well as catering for vegetarians, vegans and everyone else! They do breakfasts, coffees, lunch, teas and snacks so can cater for everyone. The owners and their staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is very good - the food is... More
