Visited this charming pub/restaurant for the first time with my wife and eldest daughter. The pub is set in a quiet country lane with a nice garden for summertime dining al fresco. Service was attentive, the menu creative, the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

We were taken by close friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had been told we would need to arrive at 12:30 as a large group of walkers were booked in for 1:00. The group arrived early and were dealt with before us which resulted in a wait before our order was taken after which we waited a further 40mins... More

I've eaten here 5 times over the past year and cannot fault each experience. The pub is small and seems to be fully booked for weeked lunches, so expect to wait for the food, but weekday evenrings are quieter. The standard of food and cooking is excellent for the price (starters £5-8, mains £10-20, puds £5) and the surroundings are... More

Went to Uncle Toms today and had Pie of the Day (Lamb and vegetable). It really should be called "Pie of the Year" - it certainly gets my vote for the best pie I have had in a pub. Proper short-crust pastry too - not one of those puff pastry lids with slop underneath. Lovely tender meat and a rich... More

There was three of us for a Saturday lunchtime treat and boy was it a good one. I had the home made burger and chips and it was one of the best I have had in the Thames valley, meaty and cooked just right. The others had the calves liver and the fish and chips, clean plates all. We followed... More

Great local pub, cooking good pub grub. I go here regularly with friends and family for lunch. Uncle Toms have local beers and all the food seemingly is cooked fresh. The burger is amazing and will leave you full. I got slight food envy for the fish and chips that a mate had as well. Very enjoyable.

My wife and I decided to try this pub on the strength of its positive reviews. It is well tucked away in a maze of country lanes (thank goodness for SatNav) and it's the sort of place I can visualise being a meeting place for farmers and farm workers in days gone by, We went on a miserable wet and... Surprisingly good food, ate lunch, made friends in the bar and played cards. We thought the menu was good, very reasonable prices and we got service with a smile. The roaring fire was very welcoming. A very pleasant experience altogether. Highly recommended

We have been monitoring the reviews of this place so decided to walk there for for a quiet mid-week meal. Welcoming feeling when we got there-not too full. Waitress very pleasant & helpful. Not a massive choice of what I would call up market pub grub (reflected by the price which some might find a tad high). However my mushroom... More

My wife and I had to wait a very long time for our meal and when it arrived one of the main courses was not what we had ordered. When we asked for a salad in it's place that took another 10 minutes so we were forced to eat separately. The waiting staff were unapolagetic and overall very poor (standing... More
