Had a trip to the Old Post Office before Christmas and then again in the new year and wasn't disappointed. we booked our tables in advance and went for the 3 course menu the first time we visited and the 2 course menu in January just to keep the calories down. The food was of excellent quality and the service... More

I visited this eatery with my family and a few friends and I was not disappointed! The food was amazing and there was such a wide variety of meals to choose from. 10 of us visited and after different starters, mains and desserts we all left feeling satisfied and full! The staff were all helpful and polite and the only... More

This place is the only pub in walking distance from my house, but haven't been here for ages. Popped in for a quick lunch midweek as the car was in for a service. Friendly welcome & efficient service. A few tables were occupied, which was good as the tables are far too close together. Ordered their 'pie of the day',... More

Having made a special trip as we were looking for a place in Barnsley/Wakefield area to have a small celebration in a couple weeks and had heard some good things about the food. We had booked, and you really do need to do as it is a busy and obviously popular place to eat, and on arrival we only had... More

First time visited for Sunday lunch. Absolutely lovely food, lamb was beautiful and very prompt service. slight criticism was the veg which came in a large dish only had two slices of carrot in it. Slightly top heavy on the courgettes.

If you like steaks this is the place for you. You select the uncut steak from the joint how thick and how much. The meat comes from Rob Royd farm shop so is of the very best quality. The fish is quite good too. The restaurant goes for the quality of the produce to provide a very good meal.

Xmas outing with our choir. Ordered in advance food service and atmosphere top class. Even bought the meal for a lady who couldn't come but had been paid for, divided it between us. Gave them a song in return.

We have eaten here many times, the fillet steak is the best steak you will get in Barnsley (from Rob Royds farm shop). The red wine and mushroom sauce is gorgeous! Don't make the mistake I did and order the jacket potato, mine tasted and looked like it had been in the oven for at least a day. The home... More

I went with the grandkids and hubby to a VW convention in it's grounds and ended up staying all day. The food is lovely, the staff are friendly and it's ideal for children x
