lovely old pub with a happy mixture of gay and straight patrons, good service and very welcoming, nothing to dislike
Had a lunch on Saturday afternoon and could not fault a thing the food was brilliant and the the best thing about this place is the hospitality it is second to none.
We dined here on Saturday night. The food was excellent and the service at our table was good apart from later being asked to vacate our table at 10.00pm as apparently it was reserved from then even though we hadn't been told this earlier. Bit dissapointed in the attitude of Joe in not finding us an alternative table within the... More
Lunch in the Arden Arms was fine, although we asked for medium rare steak, it was well done, albeit edible, it was not what we asked for. I also have a BIG problem with price of drinks, I ordered half a larger, orange squash and soda water and can of pilsner, three drinks came to £5.95, far too expensive!! For... More
I love the Arden arms, always welcoming from the hustle and bustle of the day. A roaring fire to great you when you come in of the street. The staff too are equally as warm and welcoming. Leaving the food, simple and well executed, tasty no matter what end of the day it happens to be there consistency always shines... More
I went to the Arden Arms on a Sunday afternoon with a large group of ladies after visiting Staircase House, which is just around the corner. The pub itself has plenty of old fashioned charm and character, and they were able to accommodate 14 of us with plenty of room for other diners. There's quite a lot to choose from... More
I was really looking forward to this meal but I was very disappointed. The starters were not great. Stuffed mushroom with stilton and walnuts, I expected the walnuts to be mixed in but they were scattered in large pieces around the edge. The whole thing looked a bit like it had been eaten before, if you know what I mean!... More
Had lunch at the Arden on Sunday, 12th of January. Some old chums of mine had moved to Stockport in the September of last year and had heard that this was a cracking pub. Well, in truth, 'cracking pub' is kind of under selling the place. It would be more in truth to say'brilliant-pub-why-on-earth-aren't-there-more-luvvly-places-like-this?' A grand interior, lots of the... More
We had a couple of hours to kill before a rare trip to the cinema on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I was about to take the lazy predictable option (JD's) but asked a friend to recommend somewhere. We were not disappointed. Lovely character Victorian building with a superb cosy traditional interior. We we're given a warm welcome by the owner... More
Popped into the arden arms after a spot of sunday shopping for a bite to eat, the service was excellent. I had the cheese and onion pie and it was delicious, home made and reminded me of the pies my gran used to make. Will definitely be coming back!
