Enjoyable Iranian Food!

Having not visited Rayhoon for a while, we were surprised & had reservations about staying when we turned up & saw it was now called Istanbul Palace, however the other diners there were also Iranian so we decided to give it a try. The Iranian waiter who greeted us was very welcoming & I'm pleased... read more

Restaurant clean and our waiter was fine, my disappointment was when ordering a specific meal on the menu I was told it was unavailable, I ordered a second choice and was told that I wouldn't like it and that he was having this specific meal removed off the menu, he went on to persuade me to have a casserole ....... My friend and I visited on Thursday lunchtime, and found the food and service excellent. The set price for a two course meal of £6.95 each was a bargain. Well worth a visit.

Food was amazing including the vegetarian food, though there was only 1 vegetarian main course. my partner had the lamb & said it was the best meal he'd had. service was also excellent.

Having been to a lot of Persian restaurants, I can say the food here was absolutely fantastic. They have recently changed the name to Istanbul and they serve both Persian and Turkish food.I strongly recommended kashke bademjan as a starter and ghorme sabzi as a main. Great place, will definitely go back.

We went for a family meal for my mother's birthday as we had been before when it was Rayhoon and have always enjoyed the food. The food was excellent but has lost its authentic persian taste. The restaurant now has a turkish twist to it. The food was really tasty, very reasonable portion sizes, better value than before. The menu... More

Hiya I booked this well in advance for my husbands birthday as a surprise in July 2014. Then to my amazement they closed and moved and didn't even have the decency to let me know. I feel this is very unprofessional and bad manners and feel extremely let down as my husband and I ate there quite often

rating as average is possibly a little harsh, but some dishes ranged from being exquisite, e.g. the salad shirazi to being a little dry and disappointing e.g. the barg . went a bit out of the way to eat here. but worth an occasional visit, i guess if i hit the right dishes id have a memorable meal here.

I went here recently with my half Iranian friend... so I had a very good guide. The place and atmosphere are very pleasant, with a cool guy playing the piano for the diners... what a touch! The staff is nice and helpful, but the biggest thing is obviously the food. As a starter we had "a small hill of aubergines"... More

We had a memorable and very enjoyable evening here with Iranian friends at the weekend. We had a wide range of food choices including appetizers and mains as well as Persian tea and doogh (a seasoned yogurt based drink). The food was all excellent, subtle mixes of mild spices, some delicious yogurt based dishes, a pickled dish, and the fragrant... More
