We had booked to come for Boxing day. A table of 15, we had pre ordered our food and also pre ordered drinks for the table. Our table was booked for 16:45 - we arrived at 16:30 so we could meet all in the party have a quick drink and then be seated. When we went to be seated we... More

Often go here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Excellent food but let down by the state of the crockery! Have to search through the pile of plates in order to find one that is clean enough to eat off.

We were so let down by The Rudyard ON TWO OCCASIONS ! we were looking for a venue for a small family get together ( 4th Oct 2014). I telephoned the Rudyard and asked if we needed to book for the Saturday evening at 6pm. The man who answered said, ' oh no , you should be ok at that... More

We regularly visit here as it is within walking distance of our home, the food is good and as its carvery and we have 3 children no-one is unhappy and the free refills on coke/lemonade is excellent. Service generally good, but you may have a short wait if they are extremely busy, which more often than not they are. Overall... More

A friend have lunched here perhaps a half dozen time in the last few years (the most recent in the middle of May). We have always been happy with the carvery food. The meat is quite palatable. I especially like it that the vegetables are not overcooked (perhaps because of a high turnover). The service has always been good.

Stayed here on 02/03/2014 and had the carvery, couldnt fault the carvery at all, there was 4 meats all cooked to perfection, and loads of veg and potatoes, extremeley busy place but no-one had to wait too long for a table. Staff were really efficient and friendly and the place was just as a good relaxed restaurant should be, with... More

The food is not bad and quite good value. Of course prices are made up considerably by the price of puddings and drinks. Shame you can't book on Sundays, but there are many good viable alternatives in the area.

My daughter recently stayed over night at the hotel. Very helpful when checking in, room slightly lacking, but a comfortable stay. Checked out on Saturday morning, went to work and realised that she had left her Thomas sabio bracelet on te dressing table. Tried to contact the hotel, no one answering the phone. Eventually I went round at 2pm to... More
