Nice food I would recommend the lamb shank. Setting is nice and homely. Not so great service! Too expensive in my opinion for the overall experience.

My family and myself visited the Red Lion three weeks ago on a Sunday for a bite to eat. We had never been before but passing quite often had always been curious to what it was like. The place itself is very nice, in a lovely setting with plenty of car parking spaces. It wasn't too busy when we arrived,... More

This is the second time in recent months we've visited here and we were pleased to return. We'd tried to book a table earlier in the day but advised they were fully booked in the restaurant but the same menu was available if we located a table in the pub. Fortunately when we arrived there was a table free so... More

A return visit with our family - 6.00 pm on a Saturday. Very busy, but service good again. Must book if you want to come Fridays and Saturdays. Food nothing spectacular - decent pub food.

Came here for lunch, pub impressive from outside and well set out inside. However, soup was just warm and black pudding slices were solid and fatty. Main course Caesar salad was just Ok but I thought pricey for what it was. Small plate meat pie was ok but spoilt by synthetic gravy and tasteless dry chips. Finally coffee was not... More

Went with my partner on Tuesday for later lunch. We were eating in pub area. Ordered chilli and fish and chips. Mine chilli was really nice and fish and chips just ok . Fish a bit too small to be honest. Staff was pleasant. We will return.

The red Lion used to be a traditional village pub, but lee's have shown what can be done when a brewer puts the effort in. The interior is very warm and welcoming as are the staff as you walk through the door. The menu has a well balanced mixture of traditional and newer type dishes at reasonable prices. there is... I ate here with my wife and my in-laws on a Saturday lunchtime. We didn't book, but they made up a table for us straight away. The food was very well presented and everyone enjoyed their meals. My steak burger with bacon and cheddar was very, very good and a good sized portion. The desserts were also very nice. I... More

Myself and my husband visited the Red Lion on Friday 10th October 2014 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All in all the meal and service was very good. My husbands starter the asparagus was very good and plentiful, however, my black pudding was disappointing 2 slices of black pudding a rasher of bacon with a bit of cheese. However, my... More

I visited the Red Lion on 10th October 2014 with two friends visiting from the Midlands. I had pre-booked ( the previous day) and requested the promotional offer of 25%. On arrival I presented the paperwork but was advised, very politely, that I had not completed the transaction correctly and therefore, unless we could go online whilst on the premises... More
