Description: With the increase in generic pub chains and franchise restaurants, fewer places present a menu to people who still prefer a traditional restaurant with decent home cooked food. The Brook Inn remains a delightful country pub that strives on offering good food with good service, the way it should be. With most of the courses (including the ice cream!) prepared on site, The Brook Inn combines quality and service along with affordable prices.

Sunday Lunch was not what we expected, not expensive but very average. Share meat platter only had a very small amount of Italian ham pot of olives and 3 rolls? The roast that was billed as coming with Yorkshires did not and we had to ask for them to be added, the veg tasted as if it had been cooked... More

Bought what I belived to be a good deal from Groupon at a local pub. Arrived at a cold unwelcoming pub with no fires lit on a frosty evening. Ordered drinks at the bar and I ordered a glass of wine. The barman said that he had poured one earlier which was on the bar but the customer didn't want... More

I have always loved coming to the brook for super food log fires and fab atmosphere, so was really looking forward to going last night! What a shock we were in for stark painted walls no sign of Christmas or warm fires. Only 2 others in the place we ordered drinks which came with no ice as machine had broken... More

The Brook was always a firm favourite but we had not been since it changed hands a couple of times and heard mixed reviews- we used a groupon voucher which was amazing value for money. There were 4 of us, the starters were really good and the service was also really good. Two of us had the steaks for the... More

New look restaurant in all white. Looks incipid. No fire tonight so the place felt cold. Landlady totally uninterested in customers. Food is never cheap. Half of the menu was not available. a 8oz steak looked more like a 5ox one on the plate. The chips were vile and covered in slimey grease. The sausages looked half raw. The food... More

This restaurant has an exciting and innovative menu and has the potential to be really good and probably is normally. Unfortunately we followed on from two large parties and several menu items were no longer available, which was a pity as watching others being served the food it all looked very good. Service was very friendly.

4 of us went on a groupon deal. Could not fault the food or service. Limited starters but a vast choice of mains available.

The menu looked fab....lots of interesting choiced. We ordered a lemon and mint linguini and a wild boar burger (a whopping £20!) The food arrived and my other halfs burger came with cheese, not stated on the menu (he's allergic). The waitress was great and got a new one on the go and took my food away so we could... More

Having visited the Brook many times in the past we were surprised at the poor comments on trip advisor so when invited to go with our Daughter and Son-in-law we did not know what to expect, we need not of worried, it has been renovated to a high standard with very comfortable seating and not overcrowded with tables. The Menu... More

Cold November evening, pub was very cold, no log fire on, in fact they had no logs! Chose to eat in 'newly' furnished restaurant, an improvement from the old glass table and heavy chairs, but cold and lifeless, only six people dining in a very big room. Food good, but sloppy service, no salt& pepper on the table, the thinnest... More
