Not so good as previous visits

Visited this carvery several times but disappointed this week. Roast potatoes undercooked and mushy, Yorkshire puddings and parsnips hard as rocks, cauliflower cheese undercooked and not very cheesy, food quality has definitely declined. And when having a drink in the bar i am not interested in... read more

I have been here twice for a carvery. The first time was awful - I only returned as a friend booked it for her birthday, and unfortunately the second time was even worse. There was absolutely nothing good about this food at all. The meat was dry, the vegetables were so overcooked that they all tasted exactly the same, the... More

And when having a drink in the bar i am not interested in listening to staff bickering about each other thanks!

Went on a fairly quiet day for lunch with our granddaughter we chose the carvery vegetables were steaming gammon excellent and lean.all in all good except seeing an almost depleted Turkey joint which was obviously from the previous night. This I felt should not have been used.perhaps management would like to respond.we were there prompt at midday. Pleasant surroundings with... More

I attended this restaurant for my mother and father in laws wedding anniversary meal. Some of the party ordered from the menu but being a Sunday i decided to go for the carvery as the signage outside of the restaurant said it was the home of the great british carvery and it appeared to be quite a good lay out.... Having booked a table, on a Saturday evening in case the establishment was busy, we entered the dining area. The greeting by the member of staff (possibly a manager) was less than welcoming. However once seated the male and female waiting staff were excellent, friendly, attentive and only to pleased to help. We ordered our meals from the main menu... More

The carvery is great and very reasonably priced, there is normally four meats to choose from. There is also a menu if you don't like carvery. We have never booked but it does get busy so check first.

We went for carvery and other meals. The carvery was terrible, half the items had run out and were not replaced leaving only a choice of turkey or beef, the vegetables were either burnt, the parsnips were like chewy brown sticks, or raw like the leeks in a white sauce which were completely uncooked and gritty. Someone ordered a burger... More
