Cheap and predictable

We have a diamond card. Food off menu is good but little choice. Last 4 visits the restaurant has been very quiet. The staff are helpful. Veg on carvery basic. Meat was good. Drinks arrive quickly.

Many of the servers need LARGE amounts of training in the most basic politeness and professionalism, but the carvery (6-8 L) itself was very good. The gammon was moist and only slightly salty and the beef was overcooked but flavorful. The sides were well done and plentiful, with an apple spice flavored cabbage, good parsnips and an excellent cranberry sauce.... More

Recently visited this pub after being at a funeral and my brother remembers coming here when we were younger. Hugh car park and the building looks deceptively small from the outside but is a lot bigger inside with plenty of seating. As you will see there is loads of outdoor seating which I can image would be lovely in the... More

Decided to go here as close to where we we all work. 4 of us ordered carvary and my daughter ordered off the normal menu. The waitress told us that they would tell us when the main was nearly ready so the rest of us could go up to get our food. We did this when we were told and... More

We came for a meal yesterday evening. Just a spur of the moment decision. Well worth the visit. From first entering until leaving we had nothing but quality and perfection. We had a three course meal each, which was served by a friendly and extremely helpful waitress. Each course was hot, well presented, and ample servings. There was minimum waiting... More

Vile. Over cooked and tough lamb. Raw roast potatoes. Yak. Beautiful pub though just the food lets it down. Really need to invest in a decent chef!!!

We booked a large family party for our Christmas day meal here. We were put in the function room near the bar. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and also the Manager, we were given a drink and shown where we would be sitting. We were in a lovely spot, I was expecting to be crammed in... We visited the restaurant 29/12/15 party of 8 to celebrate my Dads birthday. Restaurant was not very busy but took 20 minutes before our drink order was sent to us, we had to ask twice before we got them. We all ordered our starters and was told straight away that the Nachos were not available, two of our party reordered.... More
