We went for dinner with friends on a travel zoo voucher. There was plenty of choice & the food was cooked , served & presented well. The restaurant had had a re-furb and looks bright & fresh. You can actually sit and watch the chefs cook if you want. What I like about this location is that after your meal... More

The food is served up quite interestingly so that it looks appealing. The staff are polite and the restaurant itself looks very fancy inside. It's a nice place to go if you feel like treating yourselves to a dinner out.

We haven't been to The Granary for several years and since our last visit it has been refurbished. It's a shame that the clean new look didn't go as far as having clean dessert plates. Three scoops of ice cream were put on a dirty dinner plate. Unforgivable. My dessert plate also was smeared around the edge with visible fingerprints.... More

A voucher offer of dinner and overnight stay is usually perfectly adequate but nothing prepared us for the standard and presentation of our three course meal at the Granary. Innovative dishes, beautifully cooked with excellent service. We have eaten here before and the lunch time carvery is also good but dinner is the icing on the cake.

First impressions. Nice.Table seems crowded enough without the coffee cups which are already on the table. Why?The cheap serviettes look like cost cutting gone too far.Upon sitting ....Why is the cutlery so grubby and school canteen style. All the side plates were coated with gritty particals of food.First soft drink was flat, its replacement tasted moldy.I keep stum as I did not... We regularly frequent the Granary, it's our favourite restaurant in the area and we have always had a superb meal accompanied with superb and friendly staff and service.. From the bar, lounge and into the restaurant the whole area has a very relaxed feel... The food is always cooked to perfection and being a fish lover I am always impressed... More

Table for four on a wet Tuesday lunchtime I expected my first visit to the Granary Hotel Restaurant to be quite, this was soon to be dispelled as I turned off a quite country lane to be met by an almost full car park. I entered the well furnished restaurant to be met by a busy room of diners ,... More

We don't have to have an excuse to go to The Granary for lunch but today it was a party of six celebrating a Birthday. The staff are excellent and very friendly, Richard the owner, Laura and Scott see to your requirements down to the last detail. The food is first class, with the cold table and a choice of... More

As four ladies of a certain age we decided to try The Granary for a meal.....a couple of the party were a bit worried as thought it was a place where 'old people' go....not at all...yes there were elderley folks there and they also did a special price for pensioners.....but it was a mixed collection of ages... The tables were... More

Thank you very much for writing about your visit. We have been doing the lunch format for quite a while now and we believe it works well. However complacency is not a virtue so we rely on you out there to keep us on toes and to be humble. More
