Had lunch here recently which was good value and complemented by good ales. However last Saturday my wife and I were in the area looking for a 'pub meal' We took the opportunity to try the evening fare. We were lucky to get a table without reservation but were treated well by the attentive and helpful staff. Mains of chicken... More

Visited with friends after a lengthy walk so refreshment was a necessity! A good lunch menu, with a "Two courses for £9.00" offer. The food was good pub grub. The beers on offer included Boondoggle and some Jennings beers.

Have been a few times and some good some bad. This time just Ok nothing to sing praises about and nothing to really complain about, certainly nothing to rave about very average. Food could have been warmer and French fries were more like chips Drink prices reasonable

We had not been to the Talbot since the ownership had changed. On the way back from shopping we decided to call in for some lunch. We were late and expected to be told that they had finished serving lunches (it was very close to this time) . The person that served us was lovely and really helpful. We both... More

Our second visit to the Talbot Newnham Bridge was for Christmas Day lunch with my family. We all enjoyed very much, would definately eat here again.

Just called in for a quick lunch which we could not fault. Reasonable prices two bacon and brie ciabattas with salad and fries, a pint and a glass of wine. Basic but lovely well presented. Must comment on the lady behind the bar, charming friendly and helpful. Yes would definitely would return

This was my first time visiting the Talbot and it won't be my last. Popped in for a drink while in the area to visit a friend and just drank on this visit. A good selection of beer, a beautiful old pub and to top it all amazing service. The beautiful young woman with glasses behind the bar poured a... More

After visiting this place for the first time on Saturday with a group of women, I was astounded by the lack of staff on duty that night. As group of eight women all enjoying a rare night out together we decided to save time by looking up the menu on the website before visiting to save the staff time and... More

I visted the Talbot last month and had high hopes from the reviews, however the reviews did not live up to reality, the place was very quiet and the staff were more interested in drinking behind the bar than serving. After finally getting served we sat in the main bar area by the fire and ordered our food. With it... More

We have been to the Talbot on a number of occasions for lunch and I don't think we have been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the building and décor are charming. We really must go for an evening meal some time and the Thai menu looks very interesting. Can recommend.
