Great dinner...great food...great atmosphere

The food was good. The servings were HUGE!! When we told the waiter it was our first visit to the restaurant, the manager made a point of coming over and helping us to understand the menu...pointing out the most popular sandwiches and explaining how the sandwiches are made. We arrived here on a Saturday evening around 7pm and it was very empty. I thought we'd missed the rush, but the place filled up later. This is a no smoking location, which I really appreciate. We received attention almost immediately, and our server was patient while I went through the large list of beer to find something that a.... More

The food tends to be on the very greasy side. A great sandwich should be healthy. These, I assure you, are not healthy sandwiches, but they are still nice to eat. I had a burger (I think it was called the Cowher Burger), and boneless wings. The boneless wings were the greasiest wings I have ever eaten. I would dip... More

Im originally from Pittsburgh. After eating here, I felt as if the shop was attempting to bring of bit of the 'burg' to Indiana. It would of been fine if the taste, price and offerings could compete. My experience was okay and I would recommend it to others for a new place to try. However, it isnt Primantis and comparison... More

First time there and last time there. We love primantis so we thought we would stop. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a chicken salad and chicken strips and the appetizer platter. The sandwiches were not good and the appetizer platter was cooked to long. The chicken salad was not good at all. So if you are in Indiana I would... More

The food here is always good and it became a staple when I went to college at IUP. The service is always good and friendly. It's a great place to relax with friends during a Penns game ot anyday. I always visit for a sandwich whenever I'm back in town.

I recently visited Steel City Samiches in Indiana after hearing nothing but good things, and it lived up to the hype. I got the Pittsburgh style sandwich with turkey and all the works. It was very much like a sandwich that you would get in Pittsburgh. My only complaint was that I thought there should be more turkey on it.... More

I had the specialty sandwich with fries and cole slaw inside. It was as good as it was unique. Filling, but needed a little more taste. My daughter had the Philly cheesesteak and was very disappointed. The only good thing about it was the bread. My son had the buffalo chicken sub and was equally disappointed. Could get same product... More

I have eaten here twice in the past month and I like it. The service has been good and the food is decent. I am a big fan of Primonti Brothers sandwiches, and while Steel City's are not the same even though they are built to be similar, they are still tasty. The menu variety is great.

If you like college bar food that has little taste but is really filling then this is your place. The "samwhich" has an inch of cole slaw an inch of French fries and 1/4 inch of hamburger with no taste. The atmosphere is general college bar atmosphere. The service is slow and really not friendly. More of why are you... More
