Lovely pub, lovely people, lovely food and fab atmosphere!

We come to this pub all the time, The bar staff and landlady are lovely, always have smiles on their faces and happy to go far beyond expectations. We have food every time we come, on Sundays the carverys are to die for. The portion size is perfect as you can choose what you want and how much of... read more

Had a family do there, we all turned up for a carvery we all sat down then was given a wooden tray each at our table! We then had to traipse through the bar/restaurant with our trays to get to the carvery. Once we got served we was actually served what we wanted e.g they tipped the veg on your... More

You will not find a better pint of Bathams than here, and consistently so. A limited midweek lunchtime menu; but we ordered just a couple of cobs, and they were top notch. Grown-up staff, a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

My family and I had passed this pub quite a bit whilst on holiday and decided to visit on the way to an afternoon trip. The landlady had a friendly welcome providing us with local information, there was a nice selection of beers available and, given that we visited for a lunchtime snack, the chicken and bacon melt was fantastic.... Visited for Sunday lunch which is always a carvery. It is a small carvery compared to larger venues, but an excellent selection of meats and fresh vegetables. Good portions, hot plate and hot food. Great selection of puddings. Good venue for family bookings. Friendly, helpful staff

Been here a few times and it never ceases to give amazing value for money serving good wholesome roast dinners at a reasonable price. Beef melted in my mouth that lamb according to my dining partner was fabulous hot crispy roasts and a fantastic selection of vegetables in including the lovely cauliflower cheese . Pudding shared between us was fresh... More

We took my mother for Sunday lunch. Booking a table definitely recommended as all three sittings were booked. A choice of beef, turkey and ham, served with a choice of fresh vegetables. Thoroughly recommended, nice pub warm atmosphere, and service just right. We didn't try the puds this time, but those being wheeled out looked very edible, but on top... More

Arrived at this pub one Wednesday lunchtime after seeing a sign outside which stated "food served daily". When I went inside and asked to look at the menu, I was informed that " we don't do food on Wednesdays"'

Our bowls team enjoyed a super meal at the Waggon and Horses last year and have booked another for next week to celebrate the closing of the green for another season. Always good value and on our doorstep.
