Still a delightful place for Sunday lunch

Just got back from a Sunday lunch at the Wagon & Horses, definitely a good value experience. Couldn't resist a bit of everything, Beef, Pork & Turkey, and a good range of mash and roast potato, green beans, cabbage, peas, cauliflower cheese, carrots and Yorkshire pudding. When you walk in here, you know this is a proper English boozer. The beer was excellent, the lunches were English traditional fayre, best to keep to tried and tested options and not go exotic. Would certainly come back for the beer and have some crisps next time. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Our first Sunday lunch here, but from my families reaction to the meal it won't be the last. Today we had a choice of Turkey, Beef and Ham or any combination of these; the food was hot, plentiful and not over cooked. At £8.50 a head not too expensive either.

This is a pub which has managed to retain its independence and has kept true to its roots. Bathams bitter is kept to an extremely high standard and I have not had a bad pint to date. This is a safe, family pub and also has a traditional drinkers bar and a further bar serving the lounge and restaurant. The food... More

Nice outdoor space to enjoy good weather and watch the world go by. Lovely pint and nice to see filled rolls on the bar if all you want is a snack.

We come to this pub all the time, The bar staff and landlady are lovely, always have smiles on their faces and happy to go far beyond expectations. We have food every time we come, on Sundays the carverys are to die for. The portion size is perfect as you can choose what you want and how much of it!... More
