We had excellent quality food (all three courses) and the service was attentive yet relaxed - limited fish and vegetarian options but just enough,us three non meat eaters all ended up choosing the same dish, it was certainly expensive but worth it. Good warm atmosphere.

Had two birthdays to celebrate last week and with Coles being the go to restaurant in Marlborough (from past experience) we had to book. Saturday night was pretty busy but we managed to get an early table. Once again we had a fabulous meal and brilliant bottle of Brouilly, the menu was wide ranging with something for everyone, although referring... More

Loved the food, atmosphere & wine. Disliked broken loo upstairs, tatty, grubby decor. Used to be the best in Marlborough but looking very tired now.

A great example of a modern high quality restaurant. The style is informal without being down market. The service is just right - not intrusive, but attentive enough. The food is top notch - not cheap, but excellent value. Great for lunch or dinner. I think I've been going to Coles for at least the past five years.

I had heard such good things about Coles so close to treat a friend to lunch to thank him for a really kind deed. I knew it was pricey but this was not important. However, as a vegetarian the selection for him was very poor indeed and the meal he had was extremely average. Mine was not brilliant either, so... More

My friend and I had a a 'ladies who lunch' session here, after being recommended by one of the staff in a boutique in the town. We were quickly seated, drinks menu was brought promptly when asked and iced water and clean glasses provided (it was a scorching hot day). The manageress sat us by the fan too, which was... More

Let's start with the positive. Nice venue, decent atmosphere and a washroom that was both clean and amusing, amusing thanks to the retro print adverts on the walls. Above all, the food was superb. Whoever is in the kitchen should take a bow, truly great work. Steaks, risotto and fish all done beautifully. What detracts from this place is the... More

We've been meaning to try Coles for ages and finally got around to it last Saturday. The menu looked lovely and our waitress was very attentive, but then things went rapidly down hill. The starters arrived within 5mins of ordering them and didn't quite live up to the billing. Realising that we were going to be in for rushed evening... More

I had not visited Coles for many years, as the last time my wife and I went it was full, and the noise level made conversation impossible; the tables being so close together. Some on-line reviews were also dire. We were persuaded to try again, however, by some friends, and we booked for a Tuesday evening recently. It was a... More
