Sunday lunch

A bit disappointing. My partner liked his roast pork but my roast beef was a bit tough. The biggest selection of vegetables I have ever had with a pub roast. Tasty but they loose marks for not warming the plates properly (we both asked for ours to be re-heated half way through) and the tough... read more

Taken to The lamb by my son, just before Christmas for Sunday lunch. My first visit but not the last, A good meal and very good value, the landlady prides herself on her food and I agree. Booking is a must for Sunday lunch.

We chose this pub as it is convenient for the M4 and people travelling from London and Devon. There is no car park but when reserving a table the landlord was very helpful in suggesting parking spaces close by. Sunday lunch was tremendous. A selection of roast meats and one of the specials was venison in red wine which was... More

Post Christmas meet up with old friends half-way between where we both live so this was a random meeting place through an internet search. And it was a good choice too, this for me was a good old fashioned local pub serving good pub grub and lots of it. no frills, nothing fancy but very tasty. Not a big menu... More

Booked a Sunday Lunch here a few days earlier - 6 humans and 4 dogs and they accommodated us beautifully. We all had the Sunday lunch one Turkey, three beef and one pork and they were just delicious - the chef is amazing. It is the best Sunday lunch I've ever had. I'm a pretty good cook myself and I've... More

This is first place where fish&chips cost more than rib eye steaks (15£ vs 13£)! Had to wait for 35min and it was overcooked :( very disappointed

Absolute shambles. Party organised to sit in the stable room out back with dogs. Struggled to get us all in. If everyone who intended coming had made it, not sure where they would have put us all. The place wasn't very clean. They got so many meals wrong and we waited for 90 minutes for food. The Landlord was abrupt... More

Well the decor could do with a bit of a spruce up - but the food was really, really good. We had to wait a while for our starters to arrive but they were certainly worth the wait. I had scallops, bacon and black pudding for a starter - it was very well cooked and a huge portion for a... More

Arrived just after mid-day to meet my cousin & husband who had booked a table for lunch. Pub had just opened & was empty & rather dark; miss-matched tables & chairs; did not look very inviting. However the young barman was very welcoming & had set out a reserved sign on a table for four. Served us our drinks &... More
