Lovely traditional pub

This pub has fabulous new owners. Great food, well kept beers and interesting cocktail. Best of all, a warm and genuine welcome from the owners and their staff. One of the nicest pub experiences Weve had for sometime. Highly recommended.

We spotted the board outside that read food served all day, as it was 4.45 we thought why not stop to save cooking when we got home. We were greeted by mine jovial host who said yes we start food about six o'clock, but then said to us that's not a problem we will feed you now, we ordered ham... More

Brilliant meal start to finish. Visited here on Saturday afternoon for lunch and the service was excellent, the food was amazing. I and my father in law had the fish pie which was lovely pretty much the best fish pie I have had. My wife and mother in law each had burgers which I tasted as well and these were... More

Popped in on our way back from Cornwall. It's located on the road between Marlborough and Hungerford. Lovely old country pub with real fires and fab food. Nicely kept real ales and a friendly welcome from the hosts. I Recommend the slow roast lamb. The best roast we've had for sometime.

Having stopped for lunch not knowing that the place had changed hands what a lovely time we had. Scotched eggs and rarebits to start followed by Roast Lamb (amazing) and Roast Turkey and then the most incredible cheese board going. A little gem of a place with friendly atmosphere and open fire. Perfect for a rainy gloomy sunday afternoon most... More

Dropped in at the Roebuck purely by chance, on the way to stay with friends in Calne. They were just opening for the day. We were made very welcome. The Gales HSB and Fullers London Pride were both superb. I ordered a venison scotch egg which was freshly cooked and excellent. This place is a credit to the town and... More

Read in the local paper that The Roebuck had changed hands so gave it a try for lunch today . The hosts are delightful & very entertaining , quite a refreshing change from a ''normal'' pub welcome. Lovely log fire , great atmosphere , very clean , the food was very tasty although the menu is limited , early days... More

Lovely welcome, nice service, but disappointed by the menu, obviously attempting to bridge lunch, snacks and dinner. Main choices, apart from ham, egg and chips a bit too 'evening meal', and much else revolved around cheese, ham and cold meats. That said, what we did have was nicely served and pleasant to eat. Perhaps a daily special, weather-reflecting? Decor nice,... More

We booked a table here for lunch with my family on the 22nd December and we were greeted with smiles. Cosy fire with armchairs and beautifully decorated. The food was superb!! And excellent value for the portion size. We were so impressed by the atmosphere and the staff that I am going to book it for my birthday next year.... More
