I couldn't rate the food or the value honestly as we didn't spend any money, so I opted for a default '3' on both of these. When the seven of us walked in, with the intention of getting a Wednesday afternoon pub meal, there was no-one around, no music on, just two people drinking at a table and obviously no... More

Completely empty on a Sunday lunch time was of course not a good sign.....we are not repeating the experience, but the landlord and lady are nice, pleasant people and the quality of the food was nice enough (hence the Poor rating, rather than Terrible). The place is just eerily empty! Oh, and the landlord was completely shocked when we asked... More

Marlborough was full so we found this pub on the Hungerford road for lunch. The beer was well kept, and the food inexpensive. I ordered a ham sandwich, which had one thinnish slice (I think either two or a thicker slice would have been a little more satisfying) and my wife's prawn sandwich became a tuna sandwich: fortunately not a... The empty car park on arriving at the Roebuck at 1pm on a Sunday should have forewarned us. Unfortunately for us however, we ambled on in. The next warning sign was the amount of time it took for the landlord to take our order... and the instant coffee... we still went ahead and ordered though... There was nine in our... More

met the new owners a couple of weeks ago and they are brilliant. Decent pub food at decent prices. The owners are very welcoming. Will definitely visit this pub again as its my local

We met up with family for lunch because it was halfway between Winchester and Cricklade and looked OK on the website. I was initially disappointed because the London Pride had just gone off and had to settle for a Kronenburg but the landlord had the Pride up and running for my second pint, and jolly good it was too. Three... More

Just needs a bigger garden and it would be one of the best places for food, staff are great, whole experience pretty good, has changed hands from my last visit, but still doing what they do best. Family friendly

We visited the Roebuck after two of our friends recommended it. We first went three weeks ago to attend the pub quiz but thought we would eat beforehand, my husband had the London Pride pie - the meat was so tender and very tasty. I had the home made Cottage Pie with warm home made bread, the pie was the... More

We went with friends for a meal at The Roebuck and I have to say it was very enjoyable! My husband was over the moon because he could drink London Pride all night and the food was great. My steak was cooked perfectly and we shared a chocolate brownie for dessert whihc was out of this world! Highly reccommended!
