I had the most appalling experience here a few years ago. It used to be like dining in a truckers cafe with mask of elegance over the door. The staff had mastered the art of being miserable and avoiding every possibility of looking at you. Something has happened. I can only imagine the the place has been acquired. The food... More

Been here a few times and always very satisfied with fod, beverage and service. Great dessert table with help yourself though a dish of cream and coulis would be nice on it

Been visiting the Polly tearooms for about the last 50 years and its not changed a jot! always go there for cream teas and you won't find a better one anywhere( and that includes Betty's in Harrogate!) . Pleasanr Service, immaculate tables and decoration and most important great scones jam and cream. We can't wait for our next visit.

We stopped here on our way home from a trip. The service is very attentive, efficient and friendly. We had the all day breakfast and one of the daily specials. It was delicious and reasonably priced. The manager had his eye on everything and it all went smoothly.

We were recommended Polly's by a local bakery as we were searching for somewhere to have brunch. The whole menu is available all day so we ended up having High Tea at 11am, very decadent. One of us was veggie so they happily changed some of the sandwiches. It was all very tasty indeed, but there was a lot of... More

I ordered a full English breakfast here on Monday; the baked beans were still bubbling away they were that hot comming from the microwave (the small twee container holding them was also burning hot). The sausages uneatable, small hard cylinders of something, reasonaöby sure these were microwaved to as would be difficult to make them hot on the outside and... More

You have to wonder why people write such rubbish . Our baked beans are not reheated in a Microwave. All of our food preparation is done in our 5* kitchen and then sent up through the food lift service. There is no way they could be "bubbling hot" when served. I have checked with our Restaurant manager and no comments... More

Went for lunch with a friend and found Polly's very cramped and squashed, the food was average but the service was good, lots of cakes that look nice but don't always taste as good. Its very popular with tourists but as a resident of Marlborough we seldom visit.

We love Pollys, such good atmosphere, delicious cakes and good service. So nice to get away from the coffee chains.

Having eaten at various establishments in the area, I found the Polly unsurpassed in service and quality of food. Something for everyone...contemporary options as well as old favourites in a traditional setting. I often bring friends here from overseas and they love the experience. I am pleased to say they also offer an armed forces discount.

Do not let the flat roof exterior put you off, inside The Polly is presented as a quaint, old fashioned, quintessential British tea room and, although not overly comfortable (seating awkward, often cramped tables), oozes 'old world'. Food is of an excellent standard, but the baking is the show stopper here! Cakes and Scones are excellent and afternoon tea at... More
