We visited for Mothers Day and had the Cream Tea. It was very busy (inevitably) but we felt almost as though we were imposing on the waitress who was very stressed and literally threw our tea onto the table and had no time to engage on any level which was such a shame - it seemed rather like a fast... I visited the Polly for morning coffee on a day trip to Marlborough. Sadly this was not as I remember it from several years ago. The staff seemed uninterested and were inattentive. When ordering I asked for a coffee and then asked for a cake or snack that would be ok for a particular dietary requirement. The waitress answered my... More

Thirty years since I had been to this lovely old town, but first time for my wife. Old fashioned, quaint Georgian buildings lining the high street. Easy to imagine the coaches stopping off to change horses or stay overnight in one of the many hotels on their way to Bath. The Jolly tearooms met the bill exactly after walking both... More

Saturday 21st March 2015, we stopped on our way home from the New Forest for breakfast, the service was excellent, the food great, however I did have a problem (which I will not say to protect them) the problem was minor, just one of those things that can happen, however this left me unable to eat my meal after only a... Also the staff did not... More

met up here with mother in law for breakfast on Mothers Day. We arrived about 11:00 am and it was very busy. They did not have a table to accommodate 8 so our party had to sit on separate tables. I ordered a latte, what I got was the worst latte I have ever tasted so I sent it back... More

We had 'afternoon tea for 2' and it costed 32.95, and all I can comment was that this was the worst afternoon tea we ever had: the bread of sandwich was dry and stale and it seemed they had been left there for days. The scones were those bought from any supermarket or worse. However, the worst of worst was... More

Having just read some of the reviews I'm almost wondering if we were in the same place. We had been recommended to visit so didn't mind queuing in the busy shop for 5 minutes for a table. We were seated at a table in the main restaurant area. The floral tablecloth looked old & washed out, and was covered in... More

Stopped at Marlborough on way to Bath. Tea rooms very clean and cosy with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had carrot and coriander soup with the tastiest bread which the waitress tells me is made on the premises. My husband had ham, eggs and chips - again delicious. We didnt have a dessert but the cakes looked amazing!
