A spur of the moment breakfast ......

......... and we were not disappointed. Lovely and fresh, nicely presented with chunky toast. Waitress was friendly and engaging and the place always has a nice contented buzz. I have had tea or meals at the Polly for approximately 30 years, The traditional style and unique ice cream menu have been lost to some extent since the new owners took over. I went 4 weeks ago and was shown to a table by a desultory waitress who could hardly speak English, the tea order was taken , which... More

If it's a good cup of tea and a bun or cake you're after plus a great spot for people watching, then Pollys is one of the best places in Marlborough to sit in relaxed, traditional tea shop surroundings.

I have always loved visiting The Polly even when the decor was dark and dingy as the food and service was always brilliant. Since the new owners took over it has been bright and cheerful in decor and the waitresses no longer wear those awful victorian "sacks"! The food is still great, had breakfast yesterday (Sunday) and the service is... More

Visited Polly Tea Rooms quite a few times... went with my husband last week and ordered a full breakfast. We sat in one the back rooms, which was good as we had the room to ourselves. Breakfast was lovely, good service and served hot. Unlimited coffee re-fills was a bonus. Highly recommended, although can get quite busy at weekends, so... More

Some years ago we used to go to Polly's regularly, and have very occasionally visited more recently. Tea/coffee and cakes have always been good. On our recent visit we had a snack lunch: jacket potato with bacon and soured cream for my partner and parsnip soup for me. The potato was lukewarm, though with good bacon; my soup was fairly... A few years back we stopped here and absolutely loved it and have been looking forward to stopping here again, so much so in fact we have been telling everyone how nice it was and how if they are in the area to pop in for a break and they won't be disappointed. I am so upset that I have... More

I would give it nil. Visited Polly Tea Rooms after a detour of M4 on way back to Surrey. We had not been for a good few years. We remember it has being a worth while visit. I was so disappointed, overpriced for the quality of the food and beverages. People sat moaning around me for what looked like a... More

Streety ahead of the liquid served up in any of the high street chains, with free top ups and a lovely olde worlde setting, The Polly cannot be bettered
