We had lunch here on sat, the restaurant was very busy, but it wasn't long before we were shown to a lovely table, with a fresh table cloth, the lovely waitress asked if we wanted a drink, we both ordered coffee, which was pipping hot, she then returned to take are food order, no sooner ordered than are food arrived,... It has been a few years since my last visit and the memories were good enough to suggest trying the Tearooms for morning coffee with my daughter. Things didn't start well when having ordered a pot of tea and wholemeal scones we were bluntly told that only white were available. I was wishing I'd ordered something else went the scone... More

My partner and I stopped off here for lunch on our way home from staying at the Cotswold Yurts. We stumbled across it and what a great decision we made! We didn't have to wait long for a table at all, although a queue formed shortly after our arrival. The gentleman who showed us to our table was very friendly... More

Thank you for your excellent review. Our ingredients are all sourced locally wherever possible to the highest standards. For example our cheese comes from a well known local dairy and our eggs are free range from Beechwood Farms. Could you please check your receipt. We offer free refills of our filter coffee as many times as our customers wish. You... More

I guessed there would be a problem when the waitress kept uttering "no problem!" ( I don't think she knows that she has that habit). Black Coffee so ridiculously strong that it was undrinkable. When I queried it there was not a hint of apology or offer to change it and I had to tell the waitress to bring a... More

Thanks for your comments. These days as most coffee shops don't serve filtered coffee, Americano coffee has typically become literally diluted to one shot of espresso coffee and hot water. As we serve filtered coffee, in fact refilled as often as you wish, our Americano coffee is the traditional two shots of espresso. Many people want this, but of course... More

Today I visited Polly's with friends for lunch. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to become free - not a problem. Whenever we have visited, we have had a bit of a wait because the place is, quite rightly, very popular. Our waitress was friendly, efficient, helpful. There was quite a long wait for our meal,... I went to these famous tea rooms full of anticipation! Had heard a lot about them so as an extra special treat, took a dear member of the family there for her 70th birthday treat! Well now, if I ever go there again, it will be too soon!!! In actual fact I doubt I will ever bother setting foot in... More

In the past I have visited this place and had very bad experiences even been told when asking for a teaspoon with a cup of tea that they had none as it was busy!!! However I went to lunch on the 6th september with a friend not expecting anything great but we were pleasantly surprised, our waitress was smiley and... More

I know everyone who has been to marlborough has probably been to Polly's. I always hope that 'just this once' it will impress me but it never does. £7.95 for an eggs Benedict and they could only afford half of a muffin for that price! It was supposed to be toasted but it was dry and chewy. The staff have... More

It is very disappointing to read review like this when the person concerned made no attempt whatsoever to discuss this with any of the staff at the Polly Tearooms, then writes a totally negative review, hiding behind the anonymity of Trip Advisor. We can only assume that this was a less than totally honest review The Polly Tearooms staff would... More

Very busy tea rooms but good food. We both had eggs benidick which was lovley and just about the right size portion for lunch. Good atmosphere but sniffling hot considering it was a very hot day.
