pub 'basics' done properly

Went last Thursday with my wife and 2 kids. Maybe 'basics' is too harsh - what I mean is that the food isn't fancy, it's just what you'd expect on a pub menu, but it's done really well. Gammon was massive and lovely, fish and chips were of chip shop quality for sure (hard to do properly in a... read more

Stopped here for lunch as we were passing en route and glad we did. There is a warm welcome awaiting inside as well as a roaring log burner. The menu is impressive and well priced. We both had artisan baguettes which came with a beautifully dressed salad and chips. Delicious and huge portions! Other diners' food looked very impressive. We... More

Visited for dinner mid week. Food was very nice and reasonably priced, good selection of beers and ciders. Recommended.

We got a lovely warm welcome and a choice of tables. The menu here is good and varied with board specials. The fish pie looked good but we both went for the steak chips and salad at £11.50 Our starters were quickly brought out,the soup was good and hot. The steak was tasty and we added a peppercorn sauce for an extra... More

We ate here yesterday, we chose The Radnor Arms as it was roughly half way between the 4 of us living in Gloucestershire and the other 2 from Wiltshire. We chose wisely as the welcome, the choice of food available, the service, the prices and the beer were everything we wanted. 2 of our party were able to have meals... More

This is the first time we have ate at The Radnor Arms. A group of seven of various ages. Quite simply a very charming village pub that offers a friendly atmosphere with friendly service. Great food and you won't have to re-mortgage your house for the pleasure. Thank you to all the staff for a great lunch. We would recomend... More

Two weeks ago we tried to go to The Radnor Arms but it was closed for a private function. We decided to persevere and try again. We went at 7pm on a Saturday night and the pub was warm and fairly busy. We had been kept a table beside the lovely log fire. The menu is pure pub grub but... More

Well I have to admit that we go here so often that we are on first name terms. But that surely says a lot in itself. More importantly, the food is amazing especially the ribs says my son and nothing is too much trouble. Give Paula and Andrew a visit.....you won't be disappointed and you'll get a very warm welcome... More

This pub has a friendly feel with very good service. The food is wholesome and well presented, good value for money with local beer on tap. We will be back soon:)
