Lovely pub in a lovely village

This is a really lovely old building in a lovely old village - do walk down the Georgian High Street. The food is good and not overpriced. Food is available all day - they have a baguettes and soup type of menu in the afternoon which is great if you are out walking.

We went to The Lamb this evening for dinner. As a family with 2 young children (ages 5 and 2) you always want the childrens menu to have a good variety at a good price (which it did) and for the staff to be on hand and to give great service (which they did). I had the beer battered cod... More

We visited the Lamb yesterday and had a fabulous Sunday roast, all the adults had the roast beef and it really was first class, even the veg was delicious! The deserts were divine, the staff were very attentive and friendly! Great place for a family meal, we will be back!

Business colleagues recommended a pub in the next village to Hindon, but when we arrived the carpark was full to capacity and all the surrounding lanes were full as well, so we moved on to Hindon a peaceful Wiltshire village with a couple of inns. We arrived at The Lamb looking for some lunch and was a greeted and given... More

the lamb used to be a good village pub serving excellent hearty pub food but as is the way in recent years they have been chasing the horray henry crown and have gone gastro. we went there for lunch tuesday. we were hungry so we ordered some handcut chips to keep us going, £3.50 for about 6 chips. For mains... More

A couple of drinks and dinner out in the sunset at this beautiful & authentic country pub were made so special by the incredible reception of the barman Fran. What an absolute gent! We will be sure to visit again soon, and honestly can't recommend highly enough. Thank you, from Vic and Jon from London

Three of us had Sunday lunch here - there was a good choice of food and the pork was recommended so 2 of us chose that with the promise of great "crackling" Very disappointing - no crackling and even worse hard veg and nothing green at all - we did feedback our complaints and were given a free sweet which... My sister and her husband joined us here for an evening meal. The Lamb came highly recommended by my brother-in-law and he is not easy to please! He had the tomato and red pepper soup to start, served on a wooden board and accompanied by bread and butter . He then had the house burger with chips, my husband had... More

I recently visited this beautiful establishment on my way through, I'd never been here before and I left wondering why I hadn't! The food was absolutely faultless! Me and my boyfriend both had the pigeon to start. The colours on the plate completely blew us away and the pigeon was cooked to perfection! For mains I had the lamb dish,... More

We stopped for dinner on Saturday evening to what seemed like a lovely coaching inn! My god we were in for a surprise, my partner and I had pigeon and rarebit to start, to my amazement the presentation was something of a fine art piece with regards to the pigeon and the taste was sensational, great combination of flavours and...
