We were the first guests to be seated in the restaurant but the last to get our food due to our order going missing. Since we had our young daughter with us this was a pain. The mistake was only picked up after we had been waiting for over an hour and we then had to re order our food... More

I've become increasingly fed up with pubs charging restaurant or hotel prices for what is basically pub food (albeit good pub food). The Lamb at Hindon is a breath of fresh air, especially when you consider that it is also a hotel. I've been there a couple of times now. On the first occasion our little group sat at one... More

A fantastic old inn with an immediately welcoming atmosphere and very dog-friendly: especially by the locals who took it in turns to give our dog free bonios! Very reasonably priced although menu limited in range compared to other village inn. Wife and I had an enjoyable meal and I think if I lived in Hindon, this would be my local.... More

The friendliness from the staff the minute we arrived was excellent. The food was top quality and will definitely go back next time we are in the area. Great food and customer service.

Came here for Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day with a large party. The food was beautifully cooked and served by well trained, helpful staff who also double checked all the dishes for a lactose intolerant member of the party and even made her a special dessert. Lovely atmosphere

Our meal was really good and the wine I chose was fab. The waiting staff displayed the right balance between friendliness and courtesy - a skill in itself. We're not fans of modern cuisine (it often comprises some fearsome combinations of flavours) but this was enjoyable. Intend to visit again.

I visit the Lamb at Hindon once or twice a year, in passing, on my way down the A303 to the West Country. It's a perfect stop off spot for lunch. It has always been a favourite because of the great atmosphere and good food, even under the previous owners. Now it is owned by the Boisdale restaurant chain, and... More

Mrs S and I stopped en route to Stourhead and decided it looked OK. Quite dark inside but the menu was good and when we saw some other dishes being served we decided to stay. Well worth it as the ploughmans lunch was excellent - yummy home-cooked ham and Wookey Hole cheese plus a slice of pork pie. Very tasty... More

Looked promising at the outside and we did also like the interior until they put us at the back of the restaurant , completely isolated. On top of that, the menu didn't reveal anything special and the food being served was as the menu announced : average , which is a pity. With this place, it could have been so... More
