tried to visit the other day, and found the place boarded up.... apparently it has been sold to another competitor from the locality
and this restaurant is still appalling. I should love to know which other Indian restaurant in Devizes is owned by the owner of this one, so that I can avoid it. Decor - check, yes that's OK, (though I have a fondness for the hoaky old murals that you used to get!!) Waiting staff - no, it's definitely not shyness,... More
There are four Indian restaurants in Devizes (Two owned by the person who owns Jal Khabar)and this is by far the best in town. We visit two or three times a month, either for the Sunday buffet or for the weekday special, 2 courses for £8.95 plus a bread or rice option. Rice is generous, so for two of us... More
We had a takeaway from Jal Khabar and I have to say that it was fantastic! We had four dishes between two of us and it was £16! Fantastic Value! On arrival of picking up our meal, we were warmly welcomed by the staff at Jal Khabal. Our meal was on time and it tasted great! To top it all... More
Bangladeshi Restaurant in the centre of Devizes, with warm welcome, excellent atmophere, and delicious food, variety to suit all tastes. Took my father and he had lovely chat with owner reminiscing of his time in that area, decades ago. Very patient and complimentary owner, who made time inspite of a busy restaurant.
Went for a meal on the Tuesday evening with friends and family . We chose 2 courses off the menu for £8.95,which also came with any rice or naan bread. The choice of food was very good and they had some really nice curries that were different from the usual choices that you get !! Could not fault any of... More
Popped in for a Sunday Night Dinner Buffet. Food was fresh, hot, & delicious. Samosas are excellent. If in the area would definitely go back.
i have visited this restaurant several times of late, as i have been dissapointed with my usual. i must say the flavours of the sauces are excellent, especially the jalfrezi, although i have tried many curries here and they are all nice. Try the sunday buffet its fantastic value, great choices, all you can eat and very good overall. only... More
The food from Jal Khabar is very good - so, if it's a takeaway you're after, go for it (but don't expect a smile or warm welcome). However, as a restaurant is usually a place where you'll eat in, Jal Khabar is ... well, just go somewhere else. Four of us went for their Sunday buffet £8.95 pp), and the... More
Some of the other reviews are possibly a little harsh. My wife and I eat here on a regular basis and tried many things on the menu. We have always found the staff to be friendly although one or two are a little shy at first. The food is always served promptly, it is hot and the quality of the... More
