My wife often looks for deals on Wowcher, Groupon, Travelzoo etc as its a good way to experience many hotels and restaurants at a very reasonable price in various locations. She purchased a meal deal on Travelzoo for The George and Dragon and this experience has proven to be one of our best yet. The George and Dragon is a... More

Just returned from a visit on a Travel Zoo voucher and was a little disappointed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal but unfortunately not so for me. The starter was average, the main which was monk fish was over cooked and with not much taste the pudding which was poached pair was tasteless and cold with solid not very tasty... More

We visited this restaurant assuming it was a pub and were shocked at the prices. We all had haddock and chips, one of the cheapest things on the menu. This was ok but no better than the local fish and chip shop. Given the prices charged, we were appalled at the toilet facilities which were outside and very basic. Shan't... More

We had seen a deal and gone for it.We had not eaten here for a long time, before the start of Travelzoo in fact.So as we read the Menus sipped our Prosecco and gazed around the candlelit dinning room happy memories flooded back.We had eaten at every table in this place and each one held a story. The fish dishes were excellent,my... Four of us visited the George and Dragon for lunch with a travel zoo voucher. We will be returning to have the excellent fixed price lunch in the future. No more to add really, thank you to all the staff there for a lovely lunch.

We had a really lovely three course meal, which we had a voucher for but could still pick of the menu, there was plenty of choice and even if you are not a lover of fish there is still other dishes to choice from, my husband and myself could not fault any of the course all were perfectly cooked and... We had a very nice meal here and although we had a voucher this made no difference, the staff were very pleasant and the choice was from an interesting a la carte menu. But, the vegetables for the main course are all charged as side dishes, which I personally dislike especially when the prices are quite high. My husband had... More

The promise of an Egon Ronay star/AA recognised fish restaurant attracted us here, but the reality on arrival was disappointing. Unlike the website sample, the menu on the day had few fish dishes apart from' fish and chips' and some overpriced 'top of the range' lobster and crab dishes. Perhaps the 'daily delivery' from Cornwall had not arrived that day.... More

The ambiance is wonderful. Very old pub style, with a big dark wooden bar and a classic huge fireplace. My fish was tasty and well breaded but still translucent inside, being undercooked. As a sushi-lover, this was fine by me but it may not be for others. Service was slow, but this may be because they were gearing up for... More

My husband and I finished a lovely day out by having a meal in this restaurant. Although we had purchased the meal through a voucher site, so the cost was reduced, it made no difference to how we were welcomed. The meal and service was absolutely lovely and we have no hesitation in saying we will visit again.
