I stumbled across this pub just by chance and was totally blown away by the decor. First impressions count! I was greeted with a smile by a member of staff at the bar and was served straight away. There was plenty of choice not only from the drinks menu but also the food menu. I put my order in and... More

A disappointing return to what is a fantastic country pub in a great setting. The service was very poor throughout the meal - staff are pleasant enough but are not switched on to a smooth effective and effortless service. Sadly, we agreed that some of our food was lacking in taste and seasoning - bland in parts and not particularly... More

Popped in on the hoof, first time dining for nearly a year. Perfect food, perfect service. As good as ever.

We stayed locally at the Rectory Hotel across the road which owned by the same people as the Potting Shed. Great little pub, with an imaginative menu and comfortable bar seating. Would recommend for a passing meal or if staying across the road for a short break. Worth booking

We visited The Potting Shed last Friday with a large group of 30 people to kick off our wedding weekend held at the amazing Rectory Hotel across the road. The food was great and the staff dealt effortlessly with people turning up late. We had our own area with access to the beer garden which was really special. The team... More

The Potting Shed has been one of our favourite places to dine. What on earth has happened? The service was poor. The starters were bland - tasteless cod and an unpleasant bruschetta. Of the main courses, the Barnsley Chop was pronounced good but of the others, the steak was tough and the others not special. We ordered an expensive bottle... More

Very welcoming and efficient staff who greeted us with us with a smile and were very polite and chatty throughout. The service was very quick and the food was of an excellent standard. The surroundings were very relaxing and the whole package made for an excellent dining experience.

This pub restaurant punches way above its weight - great food and excellent wine-list at very reasonable prices. The young staff are efficient and helpful, all with a smile. We were a party of 8 and they fitted us in as a last-minute booking on a busy Saturday night with a lovely private table in a private room. Will certainly... More

Very welcoming on arrival, and knew that we were staying at their hotel, The Rectory. Similar quirky style of decor. Menu superb. Everything was appetising and therefore a difficult choice. We had booked another pub for our second night in the area, but on another occasion we would just book to eat here each night. Very good value and excellent... More

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Food was very tasty with hearty sized portions. Roast beef was served pink as stated on the menu. Good selection of local beer and some interesting cocktails. Staff were very friendly and helpful . Decor of the pub was lovely and relaxed slightly different from your usual gastro pub. The garden was pretty... More
