Description: Think Salisbury and youll think Solstice not the mid-summer phenomenon beloved of druids but the super chic Bar and Grill at Amesburys uber-modern Holiday Inn hotel. Situated only moments from the world famous site of Stonehenge, Solstice is glamorously modern, its sleek interior anything but pre-historic. One wall is shot through with a blaze of glass, providing countryside views in the day and inky black reflections at night, while the rest of the room is bright and spacious, furnished in monochrome and lit by low-hanging chrome lamps. Despite its futuristic styling the atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy and welcoming, thanks in no small part to the professional and friendly staff who ensure your every need is met during your visit, be it a swift lunch or a leisurely dinner. From the elegance and ease of a continental style croissant and cappuccino in the morning to the hearty modern European mains of evening dinners and the comforting familiarity of burgers and steaks, plus the well-stocked bar with its excellent wine list and numerous beers, Solstice is a venue for any occasion.

Just had an ok sort of lunch at Amesbury holiday inn. Three courses for a set price and all help yourself. Starters very poor selection, choice of soup or melon chunks or some limp salad with a soggy pasta and tuna and some odd rice salad and potato salad. Not nice and fresh as you would hope for. Main course... More

Good Food with very excellent staff...especially Carolin??? Food was piping hot and well made with good flavours...a wide and varied menu which also allows children to eat free if staying with parents in the Holiday Inn Salisbury.... Overall a very good dining experience

The food was absolutely gorgeous but we were waiting an extremely long time on the first night - I even had to ask when the food was coming party of 5). The second night was a bit better despite having a party of 9 - but I did mention the problems the previous evening when I booked the table.

We ate here last night with friends. They have a very varied menu, all fresh and well presented. There is an A La Carte menu and a Set Menu at £16.95 for 2 courses, £19.95 for 3 courses. The bar area is huge and well furnished with soft sofas and easy chairs. Their is a very large, ultra modern, open... More

Dropped by for a Sunday lunch carvery. Pretty pricey £35 meal for 2 with soft drinks but left full. Have come to the conclusion that home Sunday lunches cannot be beaten as there is always something likely to be in error - but soggy roasties are unacceptable. Plus points are that there is a good selection of sides/meats and its... More

The whole experience was superb. It was a surprise lunch for my husband and the staff worked so hard to make it so memorable. All our 13 guests totally enjoyed the quality and presentation of the food. Highly recommended.

I use this venue for morning meetings several times a year and decided to meet with friends here for lunch as it's about half way between us. The location is charmless, similar to a motorway service area. The dining room is large and the four of us were seated adjacent to two large boisterous Christmas office parties. Which although slightly... More
