Nice but pricey

Took my elderly Mum to Bettys for morning coffee and a toasted teacake. Service was nice and friendly and we enjoyed ourselves. It cost over £13 for on coffee, one hot chocolate and 2 teacakes…but most important - Mum loved it.

A quaint experience from a bygone age. We knew it was expensive for very small portions, so had an unconventional cold drink and savoury snack. Still quite expensive, but worth the experience. As locals we buy things in the shop fairly regularly, where we find most of it worth the extra you pay. Current tea cakes and ground coffee selection... More

Always busy - you have to queue! Shop is interesting but expensive - the cafe is a wonderful experience - smartly attired staff smooth service interesting menu but limited. There is a marvellous marquetry picture at the far attend of the room that transports you to Switzerland The coffees and teas are nice and the fat rascals are excellent. It... More

Didn't actually eat in the tea rooms this time round - but they never disappoint. Simp,y can't pass a a Betty's though without popping in for a couple of fat rascals to take home - if you never have - you definitely should, and I defy anyone who lasses through their doors to come out empty handed. Scrupulously clean and... More

Took my mother for an afternoon cream tea as a birthday treat and we were both disappointed! Personally, I don't like the layout of the restaurant. To say the afternoon tea was tiny was an understatement.. The scones weren't half as nice as the ones we bake but definitely half the size. I think we got two other miniature cakes... More

We visited Betty's in Ilkley about two years ago. I don't think I was too impressed then, but we decided to give it another try. We were first seated at a table with both of us facing the main till by the door. When I saw another table become vacant, I asked if we could be moved which they did... More

Betty's cafe is like taking a step back into yesteryear. First class service from staff clad in black with white aprons. Usually a small queue to be seated, but well worth the wait. Bettys has an understated elegance, beautiful food and the cake trolley, brought to your table and detailed for you is a real treat. Great Yorkshire fayre can... More

Always a great choice for a posh Breakfast out last trip was up to the usual high standards. Fab eggs Benedict and Rosti. Not cheap but a nice treat alongside the elder states people of Ilkley who make a more regular appearance..

I love Bettys, especially the Ilkley branch. Every time my husband and I are in Ilkley, we have to visit Bettys. The hot chocolate and darjeeeling tea are my favourite, as well as the pan fried salmon salad and mushroom quiche. (You must try the onion chutney with it!) All the cakes are fabulous and the grand cru chocolate is... More

Lovely traditiinal cafe with fabulous service & tasty food. Always busy and thriving, often making it tricky to get a table but this time we got straight in. The best bit is the chocolate Florentines to take away - yum:)
