This small renowned restaurant has been a part of Ilkley since the early sixties. Now owned by husband and wife team Simon and Rena Gueller, the Box Tree continues to aim to be the best. The modern French classical menu and extensive wine cellar offer food lovers an unforgettable experience. Simon's commitment to the best, freshest ingredients, with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh ingredients from farmers and other suppliers, will entice food lovers with favourites such as Roast Sea Scallops, Celeriac Puree, White Truffle Oil and one of our impressive signature Souffles The Box Tree represents a combination between 21st century efficiency and exquisite good taste. Whilst the kitchen boasts the latest equipment, the restaurant features a collection of art and antiques which define the style and luxury for which the Box Tree is famed.

Top-quality that comes at a price

Food was to a very high standard and certainly deserving of the now 10 year Michelin star. Service was top notch and surroundings very special. Constructive criticism would be that we maybe weren't made to feel overly welcome until we moved upstairs for coffee. Perhaps overly formal atmosphere. A minor gripe though in what was an excellent evening.

I visited the Box Tree with my wife as a special event for her birthday. I had researched the restaurant before booking and it was alleged to be one of the best in the area, although it is priced at the more expensive level! It easily met my high expectations! Due to the reputation the restaurant has and its "smart"... More

Third or fourth visit over five years or so. The food is still excellent. We bought much better wine than usual - better than ever before - which made for a very expensive evening. I don't regret it for a minute. Mum isn't 88 every year.

We have just enjoyed a most wonderful evening of delicious food, beautifully presented, combined with attentive and warm service from all of the staff. A perfect place to eat for a fine treat. Highly, highly recommended.

We live locally and have never been to the box tree and I don't know why. This is a place to go for a special occasion as it is expensive but worth it. We couldn't fault our evening at all. The food was fantastic, service excellent and the ambience perfect. We will defiantly go again (when we have saved up)

Poor parking, but that is the only downside. The.rest. - reception, attention, menu, service, in between treats were impeccable - as they have been for the past 35 years. Although we are rare visitors, it has never disappointed, notwithstanding changes in ownership.
