Nice beer. Good steaks

The fish pie came out of the kitchen as hot as, well too hot to eat. After 10 minutes it was very nice. Sirloin steaks were good straight away, and the mushroom and chips were as well. Beer of choice was Black Sheep which could not be faulted Open for food on Monday evenings, which seemed... read more

Everyone I know recommended this pub, what a shame my meal was a let down. I ordered something off the ordinary menu and all our family did there was 7 of us. We had booked a table and ordered and it took 40 mins for the food to come, which if the food was good it well worth waiting for.... More

A dog friendly pub with a nice atmosphere. Stopped for a drink and crisps a couple of times and have always been made to feel welcome.

Mum and I went for a 'pub lunch' last Friday. What a lovely experience. There were a number of people waiting for the pub to open at 12 which gave us an idea what to expect. The staff were all lovely. The pub itself is in a smashing canalside location and has a decked area up some steps which overlooks... More

Yesterday (11th April 2015), my friend and I were walking part of the Rochdale Canal and decided to stop off for lunch at The Stubbing Wharf. It was 2.30pm and still very busy, didn't think we'd get a table. It would have been nice to eat outside by the canal but it was much too cold! Fortunately for us a... More

We called in as we were leaving HB on a busy bank holiday. The place was busy, but we found a table (thanks to friendly locals), and there was no extra wait on food. The bookable tables were all gone, but they sensibly leave bar tables and outside seating for anyone dropping in. The food was lovely, the portions generous... More

I recently visited this lovely canal side pub with my mum and brother. It is set in a delightful location which is easy to get to and park. Seating inside was lovely and staff were very welcoming and polite. Service was good and the atmosphere was a treat. The menu looked inviting and the food on arrival was presented lovely... More

I dropped in, almost literally, during a walk on the Rochdale Canal and received a friendly greeting and was offered a taster from the wide range of beers and ciders on tap. Meals were ordered at the bar and I had the game casserole. This came with a plate of the best cooked vegetables I've had in a pub but... More

Staying in Hebden Bridge for a few days, came here for an evening meal, hadn't booked but they fitted us in. Service was great...hardly any wait for our food. We all ordered different food, hubby had pie, daughter had linguine and I ordered the salmon. All three meals thoroughly enjoyed....if we were staying longer we would definitely be returning for... Myself and my girlfriend ate here Sunday lunch time. The main pub was a bit loud because there was a large party of 21 years olds celebrating a birthday but it was a good atmosphere. We were shown to our table but requested to be moved as we were directly in line with the back door and we were getting... More
