Stubbing has a place in my heart and i reslly enjoy the location, friendly staff, ale selection but the food has dropped off a little particularly now there are some alternative decent pubs in town. The main issue that has been recurring for the last 6 months on EVERY visit is the pale, flacid, undercooked and tasteless chips - C'mon... More

After reading other reviews, we visited for dinner on a Friday night. I was expecting a lovely pub with great food. The setting is nice but the interior is shabby, the wooden bar, floor and tables just need a good paint/staining. The upholstery on the seating was really stained, please just wash it or replace it.The wait staff were really... More

Great pub with a great atmosphere. Book in advance to make sure you get a table. Staff are friendly, good choice of beers and the food is great. The pub backs onto the canal and is a lovely walk from mytholmroyd. Great steak night on sundays!

Just good family fun... Nice canalside pub that's worth the walk, it's only 5mins walk, and you're so much better off making the effort. Better than the centra; Hebden pubs by a mile (and it's not even that far!!). Glorious sitting outside in the summer, and the sandwiches are lovely. If you want to eat for dinner you have to... Busy, bustling, traditional pub with extensive menu. We were lucky to find a table for two in the bar - several other tables were reserved. However, there are tables at the front, facing the main road from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden, or facing the Rochdale Canal. The sandwiches were very good, and the chips obviously hand cut from real potatoes!... More

having watched Timothy west and Prunela Scales visit this restaurant on their canal trips television programme the night before, we decided to pay a visit, enjoy the canal side and have lunch - albeit busy , we waited 45 minutes to be served, on a warm day , we could accept the leisurely sit at the canal side- however ,... Dear Terry We are extremely sorry for your recent experience with us, It seems that what you received was nowhere near our usual standards, we have a large offering of main meals sandwiches and specials boards too choose from, We also firmly believe our prices are competitive, I believe you came on a day which was extremely busy and due... We went as a family group and the staff were very accommodating making us feel welcome and putting tables together so our party (of 9) could sit together. Quite busy - even on a rainy Tuesday lunchtime in August. Food was good. Service excellent. it was clean. Good atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

We enjoyed drinks by the canal watching the world go by and then enticed by gorgeous cooking smells indulged in two generously perfect Roast beef dinners. Delicious! Great service and nice atmosphere.
