The food was very good, proper game stew, (mind the shot) BUT, no front of house, the owner comes out when everyone has gone leaving the whole operation to be run by young girls who do not care much. The service was polite (eventually) but without any skill. The specific table we "might be available later", no eye contact to... More

Loved the pub, like the beers, great canal-side location and the portions are huge. BUT, it is pricey and ultimately I didn't enjoy our meals that much. A casserole and a game stew - maybe it was bad ordering on our behalf as I saw meals coming out that looked more impressive than ours. I'd give it another go with... More

I first came here 12 months ago for lunch whilst on a MTB skills course in Hebden Bridge, so thought I'd pop up again for lunch with my girlfriend. Staff - great, beers - great, starters - great, sausages - great, onion gravy - good, but then instant mash. I always worry if the chef can't be bothered mashing a... More

We booked a meal here on Sunday night (29 June). I had prawn cocktail for starters and had to ask if I could have more sauce and there must have been less than a teaspoon on there. This was provided very quickly by a very pleasant waitress. We both order the burger and chips which was really poor. The chips... More

Our group of 4 had an excellent lunch at Stubbing Wharf - thankfully we'd booked a table! Right next to the canal, there's a great atmosphere and it's always bustling with locals and visitors - a good sign! The menu choice is excellent plus there is a specials board. 2 of us chose from the special board and had smoked... More

After a day's walking we took advantage of the Early Bird menu. The pub is rustic but with a great location, right on the canal. We wanted to eat inside but wanted to have a drink first outside as it was such a lovely sunny day. The waitress said that she would reserve a table for us inside and would... More

Called into Stubbing Wharf and reading the reviews on here for some lunch during our trip to our nearby holiday cottage. The food was excellent and service by the friendly staff was great. Can highly recommend for anyone in the area.
