We had a lovely meal here (sat inside the restaurant as the outside area was fully booked) but the vaulted ceiling and swords and shields on the wall kept the kids entertained. The pizzas were voted the best we had during our holiday and the other main courses (steak, wild boar casserole and a chicken dish) were all delicious. Only... More

We had to wait a while to get a table for six as the outside terrace opposite the actual restaurant was full. It was a hot evening and we were not keen to sit inside. The staff was very friendly and efficient and we all ordered a pizza and wine. The pizzas were very good and we were all very... More

We ate here twice and both times were happy with the food and service. The first day was lunchtime and with the temperature at around 37degrees c, this cavernous place was a welcome find to escape the heat. We enjoyed their chicken with orange sauce dish accompanied by a beer and friendly service. The second time was for dinner, pizzas... More

Good, thin crust pizza. Has an nice shaded outside area and a cellar with medieval stuff against the wall (good to entertain the kids). Lots of locals too, which is usually a good sign. As it's quite popular, it's best to make a reservation.

A wide range of pizzas, both traditional and medieval, and house specialties. The pizzas were absolutely fantastic. With an incredibly thin and crispy crust, a wonderufl tomato sauce, the pizzas were made to perfection. Do try!

Many pizzas to choose from... and with thin crust. Excellent food and good prices. Kids enjoyed it very much as well. Friendly personnel. Good experience!

I love really thin based pizza with authentic toppings, and that's what I loved about this place. We live in Australia, and my partner ate this pizza with his family 3 years ago and he drove me here from Volterra just because he knew I would love it. It was a 30 km drive, we parked at the bottom and... More

We are at this restaurant twice while staying in Certaldo Alto. The Pizza was good but the best thing about this restaurant (for kids) is the cellar. You can ask to be shown the cellar. It is full of medieval weapons and is allegedly visited by a ghost at times.

We were recommended to go here by a local we met on our honeymoon and it was amazing. The second we walked in it smelled exactly like all of my Italian food dreams. The food was so good. We ate pizza and gnocchi, had a nice glass of wine and the prices were incredibly reasonable. After a lot of touristy... More

As We walked into the quaint little town called Certaldo and reached its Historical City Centre, we gestured to a lady to let us know of a place to eat ...the brick fort was beginning to be a visual delight already and then we were ld to this wonderful al fresco restaurant overlooking wonderful view of Tuscany. The soft light... More
