We decided to eat a Pizza and tried Il Pirata following three nights around the Chianti valley. Great Pizza, very digestibile with quality ingredients, indeed we tried the Pizza Il Pirata. The place offers typical food from Tuscany as well (pasta, bruschette and salumi) in case you have no plans for a pizza. The selection of beers is top-quality, wines... More

Been there twice with my four children and enjoyed a quiet place with a welcoming service, good pizzas and antipasti. Although there is unfortunately no terrace, the place is worth a stop buy for good value for money italian food.

Great service and great food. Good quality and good price. They have a table at any time so late comers are welcome.

Visited Tuscany again in June 2014. One of the reason to go there is to enjoy excellent food at Il Pirata, particularly their risotto del mare, meat pasta and florentine steak. They also have a good collection of Chianti Clasico. The prices are very reasonable for Tuscany. It is run by a wondeful couple who speak perfect English. The recipies... More

We popped in for a quick family dinner last night. Great pizza, lovely ragu and delicious pici carbonara. Great service and reasonable prices. We left very full and happy.

My wife and I are visiting Tuscany every year since 2002. One of the reason, beyond wonderful landscape of Tuscany, is the great food at Il Pirata. This is a family run restaurant with home made recipies. We cannot have enough of 3 dishes, namely risotto del mare, meat pasta and fiorentina steak, besides delicious pizza. Even the house wine,... You will not leave Il Pirata feeling hungry! The pizzas are enormous, especially the Calzone and there is plenty of bread to snack and dip on whilst you wait for your meal so don't fill up before your main arrives.

We found this restaurant by asking a local store owner for a recommendation for a pizzeria. We were very happy for the great quality as well as the reasonable prices! (Pretty rare in Italy)! The pizzas were surprisingly large and very good. The location is great as well as it is just next to the lifts to go to the... More
