Only sampled the banana bread which was very delicious. Can't say I saw a lot of selection and prices were definitely gringo prices. But charming and proud owner. Brick oven was quaint.

I craved a decent bread and found it at Pan de vida. Nice shop and staff with a good selection of sweet and healthier bread options. We enjoyed the olive bread, but it was a bit expensive for Nica standards almost $5?! Please be aware that fresh bread is made during the day and available around 1pm, in the am... More

Found this spot by accident, it is easy to miss but well worth the visit. I had one bite of the apple treat (forget the name) and had to buy 2 more. Tried some cookies as well. All good

After a disappointing lunch at another SJDS establishment, we tracked down this place based on TA recommendations. The road is still a big mess outside of the bakery but the trek was well worth it. Totally delicious baked goods.

Mango bread, just typing those 2 words gives me goosebumps. We visit each time we hit Nicaragua and have never been disappointed. Home ground wheat & fresh ingredients made right in front of you. Intimate and smells like heaven when you walk by.

This spot was recommended by some folks that we met on the plane down to Managua. It was a quick walk from where were staying. Fabulous clay oved baked breads! and not stupid expensive.

Nice small panaderia (bakery) with a stone oven and nice staff. Their chocolate chip cookies were so good that I went back every morning for more. Yummy!

Interestingly, we didn't see this in SJDS, but found the franchise in Granada and had coffee and pastries there twice. Excellente!!! The owners are a very sweet younger couple from Canada and Venezuela.

We paid this place a visit on our first day in Nicaragua and it was a decent start. We bought a cinnamon role ($2), a slice of apple cake ($2.5), and their fucacha bread ($3), with the latest being by far the best one. Although all were tasty, the cinnamon role tasted as though it was a couple of days... More

We visited this bakery several times during our week in SJDS, and loved it each time. The bread was fresh, and kept beautifully. We loved the banana bread, and their version of focaccia was a tasty pre dinner snack. Highly recommend a visit!
