This place is what you see is what you get. Best view and vibe in San Juan del Sur. Food was above average for the area. Go for the atmosphere and the fact that they take credit cards (which many places around town don't).

We were suggested this restaurant by our hotel and they gave us a 10% off coupon that we forgot to use. I am assuming they get something in return for the recommendation. We went there the first night we were in SJDS. Seems like they were the only restaurant with a crowd. There was a band playing and we got... More

Despitethe friendly staff and great atmosphere, we had a misfortunate time here. My wife has celiac which means she cannot have anything with gluten, found in wheat, rye, barley etc. When food is contaminated by using a spoon that has touched wheat or by being cooked in a deep vryer that has also cooked wheat she will get sick in... WHOA! You gotta go here! If you do, order the Timonada - it is a seafood extravaganza! It came with lobster, octopus, fish, clams, muscles...I know I'm forgetting something. It was delicious!

Waiters at this restaurant take it upon themselves to add a "tip" to every drink order and not disclose they are doing this until confronted. Beware of this practise at this place

I really like el Timon ! it has a beautiful setting right on the beach and many nights there is live music and dancing. The food is rich and expensive but for those important occasions is a nice spot to take a special someone. Lately I have been enjoying their daily happy hour specials of $1 mini food plates and... The place reminded us of an old school fish house in any American coastal city. But, the food is absolutely terrific. For a serious seafood meal in San Juan, this is the place. It might not attract the young surfer crowd, but for serious minded travelers with a little extra cash, take a seat and go for the more interesting... More

The restaurant is right on the beach and has a beautiful view. The servers were all dressed in cute little officers outfits, like right off a cruise ship. They were very attentive. I only ordered drinks and snacks, but they had a good selection of (mostly) seafood. They have a good happy hour. Local beers and rum for only $1... More
