An attractive, clean beachside restaurant! Good selection of entrees: Fish, Fowl, Flesh! Cold Dorado! Beach access and seating. Prompt, courteous service. Ample portions. Fine dessert selection. All at reasonable price. Nothing spectacular, but what could be better on a tourist budget! You fellow... read more

I decided to splurge on myself and I ordered the lobster prepared El Timon style. It came with onion rings, a salad, and small baked potato. plus they serve you pre-dinner chips (which were excellent by the way). The lobster was a huge serving, but the taste and texture not so good and in a couple of areas it was... More

Love the atmosphere, the view, the people and the awesome band that plays here each night. The food is delicious as well, but the length of time it took for drinks and for food to arrive was a bit maddening. It may be due to some newer waitstaff.

While I was in SJDS I went to El Timon twice, on the first occasion I shared the seafood platter with a girl. It was unbelievable, I almost passed out from happiness when it arrived, I've never eaten more seafood in one sitting. I literally couldn't finish it. That mixed with a couple of bottles of wine made for a... More

This is a restaurant directly on the beach and a great place to hang out for a sunset. We did not do main dishes but did order a number of appetizers along with the very cold beer. The staff at El Timon is right on point and on the S Friday night we were there they offer live music. The... More

This place can be intimate and can also be loud. Service can be spotty. But overall, a nice fun, lively place with good food and inexpensive drinks.

Great spot on the beach. Like all places that we have eaten at in Nicaragua the food takes a long time to be served. This is a bustling beach front restaurant and the scenery doesn't come cheap. They are known for their ceviche which was the best dish that we ordered.

Great beach front restaurant with 1$ menu happy hour! It's so delicious. Some nights they have live music, a great place to have a relaxing night on a budget while watching the sunset!
