Western food

This is the paradise for expats and western foreigners in this region. If you are tired of local food and miss western food, this is the place! Clean, acceptable quality and service above average. If you are going with local partners they have in the menu great local dishes. Staff can speak basic... read more

Previously when I visited (over a year ago), some of the dishes were a let down. Not this time round where everything I ordered was very good, from salads, pizzas, desserts as well as Asian offerings such as beef basil rice. Beer selection was good, with Lao being my favourite (especially at RMB 16 per bottle). Great coffees too. Came... More

I didn't try any of the food, but coffee was great and owner very friendly! She gave me a lot of tips for traveling and sightseeing in the area. As many have mentioned, she is an invaluable resource for exploring the minority villages. I also followed the solo trek to Yako from their website, and had a really great time... More

We stopped by twice during our stay in Banna. We had everything from pizzas, burgers, Mexican, and Italian. Everything we had was very good, and we would definitely go back if we come back to Banna.

After 3 weeks of trekking around northern tourist spots around China, we headed to Xishuangbanna. After 2 nights in bad hotels, we ended up at MeiMei's and talked to the owner, Stephen, who recommended a nearby hostel that fit perfectly (as in no mold, no smoke smell, clean restrooms, etc). We ended up eating at MeiMei's frequently for the remainder... More

Went for a good coffee and just so happened to talk to the owner, Steven. We were going to go on a tour (a little expensive) trekking with a guide but he showed and gave us maps and directions and some confidence to do it all by ourselves. Has detailed descriptions on all different types of trek be it 5... More

Jan, '15: I'm a 63 yrs old American traveling solo..... I happened into a small guitar store in the middle of Jinghong. We talked guitars, then I asked where's a good cup of coffee. One guy put me on his scooter and off we went thru town where he dropped me off at Meimei's. Great cup of coffee - beautiful... More

We were here for 6 days in a row (also because our hostel was next door), sometimes more than once a day, because the food was amazing. Every single time. Even the lasagna was well executed and tasty, better than some of the lasagna's I had in Italy!!! I have never had such authentic Western food in China, let alone... More
