Something Different

Found it on another website that features Festivals in PA. For me, it was worth the 60+ mile drive one way. Was looking for something different, and it fit the bill. I was in Germany back in the 60's while in the service, and wanted to see if this place would jog some old memories. The decor was... read more

Very surprised when we approached the parking lot for the Germamfest. All staff was dressed in German attire. Live band. Lots of food, laughing and dancing. So much fun. Returned for lunch several times after. Never had a bad meal. There is a platter, where you can order 3 different types of German meat. Great to sample. Since the restaurant... More

If you want to buy quality meat from an expert butcher then The Alpine is the place! Trained in the classic style, Mark Eiffert, second generation, trained with his father Claus, and studied as an apprentice in Germany. This place is immaculately clean! A trip through the butchering area looks like a hospital surgical ward! Want a great steak? Jonesing... More

Came here with my wife for something different. Nice decor, very clean, and it was very tasty. I thought it was neat to see the servers dressed in German dresses, and very friendly and polite. This is a place where taking your time is worth every bit.

Came here with my boyfriend to try it out. The music was loud, service was just ok and the prices are just to expensive. They only do good because they specialize in German like fiesta a main specialize in Mexican. If this wasn't the case then I don't think they would do that well.

My German mother has been bringing me to the Alpine for years. We always have a nice lunch 'German style' buy various meats and cheeses a piece or two of wonderful cake and she gets her German magazines. I now live closer and go more often. I love the Butter cheese, the roast beef and the ground chuck (what they... More

We stopped by here to evaluate it as a possible place to have dinner. The entrance places you in a large meat shop with other foods available as well. Everything looked good, but the meat cuts were mostly not German, nor were most of the side items. We checked out the menu with the hostess who knew nothing about anything.... More

Very good authentic German cuisine. Can't say anymore than that. If you enjoy cooking yourself you will not find a better butcher shop. You will pay more, but for special occasions it is well worth it.

Its an adorable little restaurant. I must say that it absolutely has the best German food I've had in a long time. Can't find better, unless you cook at home!

The pork medallions and cheese spaetzle was fantastic. The wurst sampler was pretty good too, the bauernwurst was my favorite. We got some bratwurst, bauernwurst, and mustard from the deli to take home. I'm a big fan of German lager so I will never turn down mug of Spaten Octoberfest. They offered a giant boot of beer too, but I... More
