This is the place for Fine Dining in Central PA

This is the special place for special events. Have never had a bad meal there and always enjoy going back. Due to dietary restrictions we can't eat there often, but we just love it and it is the place to indulge

Friends have been raving about this place for years and we finally made the trip to try it for a special occasion. Busy Saturday night...make sure you make reservations. Loved our cozy booth!Drinks were excellent...loved the red wine flight and martini selection. Service was great, though the restaurant clearly was very busy, even the hostess was helping clear tables, drink... More

Spent a great evening at What if with friends during a recent conference. It's location, in the basement of a Howard Johnson's motel, was a surprise, but we were pleasantly surprised when we entered. We were seated and provided the menu and wine list. Having already perused the latter, I ordered a bottle of the 2009 Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico... More

As locals to the area What If is by far the best restaurant option whether it is for a formal dinner or hanging out at the bar with others. Great martinis and drinks, staff is absolutely wonderful, outgoing, and very engaged with you to ensure a outstanding experience. The food is very good even their bar menu and wings are... More

Nice upbeat restaurant, but casual dress is fine. Extensive menu options. Ample appetizers - we shared 3 of them as our entre! The dessert list included sample plates and wonderful choices. Our waiter was excellent and well informed. All in all, our experience was terrific!

Do not be put off by the location of What If's. It's in the basement of a Howard Johnson's and you have to get through the musty smell in order to get to the restaurant. Once there make sure to have your phone handy in order to see the menu. It is bordering on pitch black in there! However, the... More

Visited Hershey on a business trip and ate at the "What if". It is located at a Howard Johnson and is extremely good. We had a party of 14 and were handled by one server and he was on his game. No one issue. The food is very good and I must say try the crab dip. Not a huge... More

As a local, I have lots of friends who like What If, but I don't get it. It's very expensive for the portion sizes, it's dark and it has a gloomy feel to me. The last time I was there, I had an appetizer, a salad, and one martini, and spent upwards of $50 with tip. Service was very slow... More

We first visited What If a few years ago. We liked their margarita's and they have a really good South Western style shrimp cocktail salsa appetizer. It comes with 4 large shrimp and the salsa has the tiny shrimp with it. We seriously go back there for the appetizer. But really every time we have gone, we have a wonderful... More

My husband, in laws and I went here for my husband's birthday dinner. We picked this restaurant because we had heard good things about it from family and friends. We went on a Wednesday night and it was not too busy. We each ordered appetizers, my husband and I the scallops and my in laws the crab dip, and they... More
