Mediocre restaurant. Beautiful, but small bar area.

We've dined in this restaurant a few times. Though I love the farm to table and local reliance for meats, cheeses and vegetables, the food has never been better then just ok. However, a seat by the fireplace with a drink and a burger or light repast is a nice way to spend the evening. It's a shame... read more

Everything came together for us this past Saturday night at the Settlers Inn. (Until just now, I didn't know the restaurant was called "Pocono Restaurant", since everyone referred to it as the Settlers Inn.) We were with dear friends who recently got married, so this was a special evening. Every dish we ordered was superb. Our friend Bill asked for... More

The first time we ate here we had an atrocious experience. We informed management and received a gift card for a return visit. That was very gracious. When all cylinders are firing this place does it right. It's the best place to dine in the area. Yes, it is expensive. On our second visit the food and service were on... More

This is our special occasion restaurant. (We live 30 minutes away). Always recommended for dinner, and the special events are extra special. We dined there again last night for a wine tasting paired with a 5 course meal. That was a special treat. Five of us ate at The Settlers Inn last Saturday evening. (Nov. 2014) I had never eaten there before, but three people in our party had numerous times. I knew I should expect something delicious but it still exceeded my expectations. I had the butternut squash soup as a starter and then had the poached lobster claw on polenta for... More

I grew up in Honesdale, about nine miles from Hawley and have been to the Settlors many times. In the entire Wayne County area, this is probably the best restaurant. However, because this is a small town area, one would expect the prices to be on the low side but, in fact, the prices are very comparable to those in... More

Who would have thought that my breakfast would be the meal to boast about? I had the Smoked Salmon over a Potato Galette with avacodo and sour cream. I also treated myself to a single pumkin waffle with apple compote and Brown butter whipped cream. The entire meal was divine. Service was impeccable. I wish I knew the name of... More

After an absence of about 15yrs, my husband and I decided to go to the Settlers Inn for dinner after being in the Poconos for a short stay. Upon arriving you are greeted my a gentleman and asking if you have reservations. We had made them earlier not sure how the turn out would be for a Friday night. The... More

On October 11, I attended my 45th class reunion at the Settlers Inn in Hawley. It was a wonderful evening and I thank the Genzlingers(Jeanne and Grant) for their hospitality and for providing us with a private banquet room for our reunion. The food was delicious and the service was A-1. As always, the Settlers Inn was FIRST CLASS !
