this place looks the same as it did 25 yrs ago...a waste of space and valuable real estate. this spot in the heart of Oakmont/Havertown would be better served with and new ideas and new energy...look forward to a total re-do and new vibe

Not much has changed since my last review almost 4 years ago, so much of the description still stands. Still an iconic local hang-out and Jack Quinn, one of the last original bar-owners still comes around to see how you are doing. The local crowd still frequents the place and the food is varied and good...with the cheeseburger being one... More

We have been to the Lamplighter over the years, and their Sunday Brunch is great. A big selection of food and baked goods, accompanied by good drinks and a good cup of coffee. Also they have a Tuesday night special of a limited menu for one price, they should have a sign outside, but it's worth going in on Tuesday... More

Have been going there for years and the food has been good, but not exceptional. Tonight, with a new chef, the food was exceptional. I had a chicken, strawberry salad that was very good, and was falling off the plate there was so much. Wife had a eggplant stack with roasted tomatoes and pasta that was also a very large... More

Bartender on Saturday afternoon was unbelievable, quick, and dead on, a must stop for sports bar fans

Our family has been going to the "Lamplighter" for years. The food has always been good, the desserts (cooked by Mrs. Quinn and her daughters) are always wonderful. Courtney made petite cheesecakes for the Sunday brunch and they were to die for. Now they have gotten a new chef, who does dishes a little differently and SO GOOD! We have... More

The Lamplighter is in the heart of the Township - - walking distance for oh, so many - -BUT, the place needs a cleaning - - the food needs updating - (though the help is friendly) it is the food that keeps this place from being packed! Restaurant Makeover should be called in - - with a little TLC -... More

The Lamplighter is one of those iconic neighborhood bar/restaurants. It's lore is passed down from generation to generation and the diners and drinkers are also of all ages. Owner Jack Quinn was smart to position himself as the go-to place if you want to casually celebrate anything...pre-wedding, post wedding, Communions, Confirmations or just hoisting a few to the dearly departed.... Food took forever. Food was not good at all (overcooked, undercooked, cold). There was only one waitress when we were there (on a Saturday evening) and she simply could not keep up. Friendly enough, but way too overwhelmed. I will not return to this place for dinner. Seems like a fine place for a drink but that's it.
