Clean and bright... Ate lunch at the bar twice now... Great service... Fish tacos recommended... Steak salad, too...
I always seek out local "beer bars / gastro pubs" and the Speakeasy came recommended via FindBeer app. The building is historical and inside retains much of the old styling with a grand bar and ornate ceiling etc...The bar was cozy and many patrons. I immediately noticed many were locals via interaction with bartenders and my subsequent conversations. Next came... More
I've only visited one time - and Sturges exceeded all of my expectations. The service was outstanding - the wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu items, friendly, and the all were so welcoming. The menu is sure to please a variety of eaters - and I can't wait to go again! Be sure to take advantage of the... More
Previously Garrison's, the Speakeasy has much improved. Not only the appearance but the servers & food as well. I grab an occasional lunch here since I work downtown. A fave is the Chicken Cranberry Spinach salad. Delicious! When I first got the dressing I thought it was gravy! But it's a stupendous vinaigrette. The first time they forgot my dressing... More
Speakeasy was a great place to take your family. We were on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather. Food and service was perfect. The manager even stopped by our party just to see how everything was. Overall. Great experience.
Our family went for dinner on a Sunday night. My husband loved the plain build your own burger he had; my daughter thought the Caesar salad was great and my sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. I was disappointed that I couldn't taste any blue cheese in my mashed potatoes as I thought they sounded very interesting. My daughter really enjoyed... More
My husband and I have stopped in here for drinks several times in the past 2 months after stumbling upon this bar looking for a band playing on a Thursday night in Harrisburg. All 3 times we stopped in on a Thursday for a drink the live music was great plus they have half price draft beer from 4:30-7:00pm, which... More
I work in Harrisburg and chose to eat at Sturges Speakeasy for lunch after Christmas. The place seemed small, but there appeared to have a second level. It was dark, but homey dark, not creepy dark. I went with a co-worker and we were seated quickly. We had a seat in the far back of the restaurant, which initially was... More
December 15, 2012. We sat at the bar, only two other guests at the bar when we arrived. Skinny, blonde girl behind the bar with super short shorts wearing long, past the knee, socks/leg warmers had no personality. Maybe she thought most black people don't tip or maybe she just was bored and wished her shift was already over. Whatever... More
My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch on Black Friday. There was hardly anyone there --nice and quiet, relatively speaking. We had excellent service and the holiday beers on tap were delicious! The menu was quite creative (shark tacos, a variety of pickled eggs, for example) and we both really enjoyed our meals. The cornbread isn't just... More
