This place is almost easy to miss. My first time in Harrisburg and just happen to stumble on this place. Very nice on the inside but we sat in the courtyard. All the food was great! Appetizers, wine , soup , salads, main coarse and dessert. Our waiter Michael was very informative to the food and explained everything perfectly. We... More

We were excited about spending the weekend in Harrisburg. We love exploring and the town has an interesting history and many attractions. The one thing we did not know was the great restaurants it offered. On Friday night we found one we really loved. Home 231 is on a residential street near the PA Capital and two very beautiful churches.... More

We had no idea where we were going to eat and walked by this restaurant; a gentleman was outside setting up tables and we started talking about the restaurant and decided to head there for dinner and made reservations on the spot. We were super glad we did. It's a farm to table restaurant and the food was excellent. I... More

I went to Home 231 while traveling. So I was alone. The staff was friendly--waiter very knowledgeable about menu and food choices. I went with the wine he suggested (which was fantastic) and the sustainable fish choice of the day--flounder. The fish was nicely done but a bit salty. The price? $30 for a flounder filet over some veggies. Now,... More

We love the staff and food quality especially for brunch at Home 231. We went there for dinner once and were underwhelmed. We thought we'd fewer vegetarian options, and considering the "price", we didn't get value in terms of food quality and overall experience.

First, a shout out to Michael, our server, who did an outstanding job and made our experience very enjoyable. It's a fine balance for a server (and I was one in a former life) to playfully interact with a table and not become annoying. Michael did a great job, knew when to crack a joke or two and when to... We made a reservation for a Saturday night, but there appeared to be room for walk-ups. The menu offered lots of interesting options without seeming scattered. As a vegetarian, I opted to order a few different sides rather than the main pasta course or the veggie sandwich because I wanted to maximize my sampler.

I ate here several times in February 2015. The food was exquisite. The foccaccia bread was the best I ever had, and should be tried by everyone. I also enjoyed the hanger steak, crab cakes, mac & cheese, chowder, and wolf fish. Each of these dishes were unique and an experience unto themselves. It felt like being onTop Chef or... More

We visited Home 231 with family members and loved the food and the ambience. It is small and cozy with a varied menu of lots of comfort foods, such as braised short ribs, meatloaf, pork shank ....but this is definitely not your mothers restaurant. The menu has an upscale twist on old favourites. The fish special was very good, as... More
