Better then my wife and I expected, had a very nice anniversary dinner. Food and service were the top of the line.
Food was decent. Little pricey for some of the items (12 bucks for a small bowl of kids pasta?!? Even pure Italian restaurants don't charge that) and they need a clue on how to serve wine...two people at our party of 13 ordered red – with came out as cold as the white wines that were also ordered...the server said,... Will NEVER eat here again. Stay away. Food I would not give to a dog. Family VERY disappointed in the Ships Inn. A take out pizza would have been a 100% inprovement.
We dined hear late one Saturday evening and the food was ok, nothing to rave about. For the price and the atmosphere we were anticipating a very tasty meal. So the food was underwhelming. I do not think we will go back.
The food was alright but the kitchen and staff are over loaded and cannot provide proper service in a timely manner. The best thing about this place is the building and front dining rooms. Over priced.

We were seated in the back of the restaurant. Although it wasn't busy and we... More
Hadn't been here in forever and then went over the summer for lunch- it was AWESOME. I wanted to try everything on the menu! The dessert menu had many great choices too! I went with two friends- and I think we are all quite picky- but we all loved everything we ate!!
The Ship Inn - E. Lincoln Highway in Exton - is "seafood and steak since 1796." I've driven past 100 times since moving to W Chester and last night we finally went there; Chinese tourist friends asked for "American food" so we chose this old-school place. Good steaks and seafood, umm, "mature" crowd as expected, nice service, and a surprisingly... More
friends invite us here every once in awhile. The building is historic and the wait staff are good. However, the menu is also historic and has not changed in years. It is hard to find something new; even the specials have a tired feel to them. It is beginning to show as the Saturday night we were there, there were... More
