This was to celebrate both my wife's and my birthdays. It turned out to be a big disappointment. I don't know for sure, but I think our server, Alex, must have been overwhelmed. He was rather inattentive to our table. After bringing our salads, he...never offered fresh ground pepper. The Caesar salad definitely needed it. We asked for more pop-overs and never received them. He didn't even come back to check on us after bringing our entrees. The only kind thing I can say was that he did bring my wife a complimentary dessert with a birthday candle.More

Was seated by the owner … service was friendly and fast … both of us had the Prime Strip Steak which was cooked to perfection .. both of us agreed that they were the best steaks we’ve had in a very long time .. I...don’t think the price was too high for what we received … we will definitely be backMore

We stayed overnight at this lovely, charming inn. We were in the Winston Churchill suite, with separate baths and a separate seating area. The building is lovingly preserved and absolutely beautiful. Many period details. The linens were soft and nice and we slept well. The...building was almost fully occupied but still very quiet. We didn't have dinner but we did have drinks at the bar. The barman (Mike) was very accommodating and friendly. Our hostess was also very nice - I didn't get her name. I come to this area often and will definitely stay here again.More

This was the first time we ever went out for Thanksgiving dinner so were a bit ambivalent about the whole idea. It was a memorable experience from the friendly welcome at the door to the very end of our stay. They were amazingly organized which...meant no wait for our table even though there were a LOT of people there to enjoy the holiday. The server was fantastic and knowledgeable. The food was perfect in every way. Everyone at the table ordered turkey (What else!?!). Delicious, beautiful presentation, AND such generous portions that we even had turkey leftovers for the next day. A previous reviewer mentioned a price they thought was high. We disagree- we had appetizers through desserts along with multiple drinks for the table- worth every penny. THANKS for a truly wonderful experience.More

This was not what I was expecting. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner with the family (6 adults). Was a limited but interesting menu. Started out failing with drinks. The bartender did not get our drink order correct and after the wait staff went to correct...the issue the bartender came to our table with attitude-strike one. I ordered the pheasant my sons ordered the lamb and beef. Both lamb and beef should have been pink but they were burned to death. My daughter-in-law ordered the salmon and again was badly charred—strike 2. To add insult to injury the bill was over $800. This was way overpriced for the quality of the food served. Yes, I ordered a bottle of wine with dinner. I have been to the Duling Kurtz House on several occasions and have had consistent meals. Management, was this a new kitchen staff? It was a horrible food experience that I should have brought to your attention. Our wait staff was fabulous, that was the best part of the meal.More

We had a nice quiet corner, Amy our server was fantastic! The whole meal was a treat. I had overheard a staff member telling a guest that the regular chef was on vacation and if they were coming back, wait until he was back. That...was uncalled for! Our meal was great.More

We stayed at the Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The package deal included this fabulous restaurant. From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty! We had a private little corner room- very romantic. The food was wonderful and they have a...very nice wine list. The whole experience was lovely- from soup to nuts! The waitress was very attentive, while giving us our private time...something many wait servers could learn from. We will definitely return...most likely with friends. Perfect place to celebrate 34 years together!More

Duling-Kurtz was a favorite of our's when we lived in PA...moved out of state over 20 years ago...visited D-K last night for dinner...yes, there are a few changes...they no longer have live fish (that could be ordered for dinner) available...the servers are less formally dressed,...but the quaint charm and excellent food still exist! So grateful for a fun evening with friends.More

Had dinner on a Saturday night with another couple. Did not have a good experience from the service to the food. I try not to judge a restaurant solely based on the service, since it can all depend on the particular waitress/waiter, but the service...was pretty horrendous. It took us exactly 3 hours from when we sat to down to when we paid the bill - granted we did order appetizers and desert, but for example, it took the waitress a good 45 minutes from the time we were seated to take our dinner order - enough said. The four of us ordered mushroom soup as an appetizer and they all came out lukewarm. The soup was ok, nothing special even if it would have been hot. A couple of us ordered steaks, and one came out raw when it should have been medium. None of the above was worth sending back to re-heat, since it would have taken forever to get back. I ordered the bouillabaisse, which was just ok. Normally a bouillabaisse consists of seafood only in a broth, but this was a thick/pasty sauce over pasta. The deserts were the best part of the meal. We had the limoncello sorbet and the chocolate peanut butter lava cake which were all good. On top of having an average meal/service, the food is way overpriced. For the money we paid, we should have had a wonderful experience, and this certainly was not.More

In today’s world of social restrictions and constant vigilance, it is a pleasure to find a venue in which you can truly relax and enjoy the atmosphere, impeccable service and excellent food. The Duling-Kurtz House is such a refuge. My wife and I dined here...in early November and made a point of scheduling a return visit soon. A catch-up dinner with a friend provided the occasion. (Under the website rules, I cannot review a restaurant more than once a month, so I had to hold this review until 30 days after our previous visit.) Upon being seated, we were greeted by our waitress Amy. She was a dynamo of personality. We immediately felt like we had known her forever as she chatted about the specials, the preparations, and did everything she could to make us feel like welcomed friends, rather than customers. Their wine list is inclusive of variety and price to satisfy any expectation. Our drinks were delivered, followed by warm pop-overs with butter and lemon-curd. For appetizers we had the Lobster Bisque, Grilled Octopus and French Onion Soup. Our friend loved the Bisque. My wife who orders octopus whenever she can, rated it as delicious, and I proclaimed their French Onion Soup as one of the best I have had anywhere. Our entrees included two orders of the Shrimp and Scallops for the ladies, and the Prime Rib for me. Everything was cooked perfectly to order and served piping hot. We finished with Limoncello, Cappuccinos and the House Cobbler. The service timing was masterful. We were never rushed, nor did we have to wait for anything. Amy made frequent checks to refill our Sparkling water, drinks, pop-overs and to tidy-up the table between courses. It was an excellent dining experience. In comparison to other restaurants, five stars does not seem enough to truly distinguish the quality of this experience.More

Relaxed Elegance Stepping into the Duling-Kurtz House Restaurant is like taking a step back to a time when dining was an experience in elegance. The décor attempts to recapture the spirit of the time the house was built, 1830. You expect servers in livery to...appear at any moment. The history of ownership and establishment is all explained on their website. The service is unhurried but not slow. You neither feel rushed nor neglected but provided with ample time to settle into the atmosphere. The menu offerings are on the upscale side, but priced appropriately for today. The wine list offered a variety of choices across a wide price span. Our wine selections were followed by warm pop-overs, served with butter and a citrus-honey emulsion. For appetizers, my wife chose the Grilled octopus while I had the French Onion Soup. Both were delicious. Our entrees included the Grouper Special and Rack of Lamb. Both were excellent and cooked to perfect order. Our waitress, Patty, made sure we had everything we required as far as drinks, condiments, and extra pop-overs if desired. For dessert, we had Limoncello liqueur, coffee and split a Warm Apple Strudel with Apples, slivered almonds, and golden raisins wrapped in phyllo pastry. This is an ideal “date night” dinner spot, or a good place to celebrate anything special, either as a couple or with friends. I have added Duling-Kurtz to our “return to” list and we will also make it a point to try their Bed & Breakfast overnight inn experience. We had a very enjoyable visit!More

Great Valentine lunch! Had a room to ourselves for most of the meal. Popovers with lemon curd always fabulous. Crab cake was delicious and full of crabmeat and broccoli rabe and a sun-dried tomato coulis were nice sides. Desserts of chocolate mousse and homemade ice...cream capped things off wonderfully! Great service from Jill.More

My wife and I used to go to Duling-Kurtz a lot and I even hosted a holiday dinner and overnight stay when I had a small consulting company 10+ years ago. It really is a lovely inn which appealing atmosphere if you don't get seated...upstairs where the country inn charm is missing. Well we have not been there in years since I eat a vegan diet and we won't be back for years since I eat a vegan diet. We wanted a nice country inn for our New Year's Eve experience. I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate a vegan diet and they assured me they could. Well not really - the only real choice was the risotto made without dairy or a pasta primavera. I selected the risotto and it was basically a glob of dry rice and not worth the price. But, my wife's salmon dish was cooked to perfection although the sides were a bit heavy. Also overpriced we thought. We got seated upstairs - so much for our plans for the nice inn atmosphere to bring in the New Year. There was also a loud party of 6 right next to us. But despite the lack of atmosphere and noise upstairs, the service was spot on and helped make our New Year's Eve.More

I had lunch reservations on Friday the 13th. Made the reservation well in advance. When I arrived there was not one parking space, my friend and I parked at the hardware store across the road and ran across this busy road in the rain, we...are both in our 60’s so this was not good. Got to the restaurant wet and already not pleased. We ordered lunch. We sat for quit a time waiting for service. Over dessert which was two tablespoons of chocolate mousse for 12.00 dollars we were told cars were being towed from the hardware store. The owner should not accept more reservations then there lot can hold or have valet parking and they should figure it out. Not in a hurry to go back since the owners attitude is too bad. I will return to Vickers or anywhere else.More
