Great Ice Cream, but.....

Rating this is tough. The ice cream end and business end are two different birds. The Maple Walnut is to die for. The gentleman running the store was very polite to me. But, I have had bad experiences with the lady in the past. VERY customer UNFRIENDLY. Since I give everyone the benefit of... read more

We've been going to Zimmerman's since before our kids were born and their now 24 20 and 16. It's the old fashion kind of walk up ice cream place every town had growing up but Zimmerman's is still in evans city and going strong !!!

Upon arriving at Zimmerman's we were greeted with a run down building. We parked only to be chased away by the owner himself. An old man of tiny stature however with an attitude unlike any human I've ever come across. The only way I can begin to properly describe his demeanor is to compare him to a cornered rattlesnake. When... More

Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. They place had more choices than a Baskin Robins and the ice cream was better! I had a single dip in a waffle cone for about $3. Service was a bit slow, but only one worker was there.

...and that's a compliment. Located in a former gas station, it feels as if it's been there forever. Big selection priced right. If you do your eating on the spot, you'll get your share of the noise and traffic of Route 68. But, hey, that's western Pennsylvania for you.

pricey, twist cones are hollow inside, milkshakes are already half melted when you get them. no pets allowed even near the building. if you are walking past with your dog, they will yell at you. no other items from other shops or stores. no pops, no other food items. many, many rules for a place that is supposed to be... Family owned for years, it's the only ice cream place in town :) It is pretty reasonably priced and has some picnic tables outside to sit on. We usually get our ice cream and take a walk around town while eating. Support Small-Town America - get your ice cream at Zimmermans :)
