Great food in an updated atmosphere

Have always enjoyed Hillside. Solid steaks and seafood, well-prepared. Nothing trendy or pretentious but what they do, they do very well. Completely different atmosphere now that they've rebuilt from a devastating fire several years ago. We ate in the bar (happily non-smoking) where the decor is... read more

The dinning room is separated from the sports bar by a wall that appears to have sound deadening qualities. We ate in the dining room, it was nice and quiet with only one TV screen that was not turned on. Perfect. The service was outstanding and so was the food. We began our meal with a shared appetizer of crab... More

Before the fire, this was my favorite place for steaks. After the fire, it continues to be, and is also my favorite for lobster tail. I came here for my birthday dinner, and everything was perfect. I do not mind making the 45 minute trek out here whenever the mood for steak (and now lobster tail) strike me because the... More

Completely different atmosphere now that they've rebuilt from a devastating fire several years ago. We ate in the bar (happily non-smoking) where the decor is very much industrial-chic, a welcome change from the somewhat dated knotty pine, sort of... More

We live four hours north of Harrisburg but come this way a few times a year. We were shocked and dismayed to see it burnt down. Then thrilled to see construction starting. Finally got to try it out. The decor is a shock... So different but modern and classy. Thankfully the filet and crabcakes are just as good as they... More

Their crab cakes are some of the best anywhere. The is no filler, just a creamy texture that is perfect.

This is the second time we went to the Hillside since they reopened. Great steaks - best in the area. The salad and sides were generous and tasty. The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and responsive - awesome service. Go early - gets busy later in the evening. The only negative is the lobby - needs some chairs, pictures and personality.... We thought we would try the new restaurant. Entered a very uninviting lobby. Very institutional like. Not very inviting. Waitress very friendly. Didn't have draft beer I wanted, ok, ordered Angry Orchard cider. $5 a glass. $6 for my husband's APA. Beer prices very high. Would never go to the bar to drink beer. Would go broke. Ordered crab dip,... More

We, like several other reviewers, were eager to try out the newly-built Hillside Cafe after the old one burned down several years ago. What a mistake to go back…we experienced one disappointment after another. For starters, the dinner rolls were stale and bland-tasting, like they came out of a bag of generic-brand rolls bought from the store. Next, the salads... More

I always liked the food here and the remodel is very nice. Prices are on the higher side for my wallet but not for others I am sure.

Business luncheon on a Thursday -they claim to make all 5 of their soups in-house, however only had one available. Only one lunch special, that day and items are pricy. Average lunch cost at our table was $11.00.
