FAREWELL PUFFERBELLY! IT WAS NICE HAVING YOU AROUND!

Former Firehouse turned into an above-average Restaurant, the Pufferbelly featured a wonderful Sunday Brunch in addition to daily lunches and dinners. The building housed a lot of antique firehouse & firefighter memorabilia. It showcased fine woodcarved fixtures, including a beautiful bar. After... read more

Great food menu top to bottom. Be sure to walk around table-to-table and see fire-fighting memorabilia. Uniform patches representing every state in the Union on display under glass. Transformed, vintage firehouse in a historic, lake-front downtown area. Best pork chops I've ever had. 3x annual visit selection. Not too shabby a French onion soup, either.

Recently the restaurant closed. How sad. It was an established restaurant of the downtown area for years. Hopefully, those who purchase it will open it again to rave reviews. "Holy smoke, what do we do now?"

Corner of 4th and French, just off of State Street. Lots of parking in front. Friendly and efficient wait staff, good menu selection, interesting atmosphere, comfortable seating. Outside patio seemed hot and stuffy since it's tucked between high walls, but inside seating is good. Dinner menu has $15-$20 entrees of steaks and chops but also selection of sandwich plates for... We had got to the Pufferbelly just in time for the brunch buffet. Excellent food at a reasonable price! The old firehouse history and scenery added to the lovely charm of the restaraunt!

I would say it's a go one time to try it place. If you can sit inside by the pole, great. Otherwise, eat on the patio. Take a walk around the place, great memorabilia, fire hats, plaques, photos, gear. Our server seemed to be lost several times between taking drink order and food order, delivering food and dessert and the... More

Had a dinner before an Erie Playhouse mainstage play of Disney's Little Mermaid. Located in a retired firehouse, is a fabulous restaraunt with firefighter historical gear, photos, patches, and equipment. Beautiful wood work that has been restored and preserved. Excellent fresh and homemade foods and entres'. Our server Karen was just awesome!!! They prefer reservations, they serve lunch and have... More

A nice family friendly Brunch , located in an old fire engine station. The brunch had an omelet bar and a table of several other choices of brunch type items. Nothing was too creative, but the basics were there and plentiful.

We went for Sunday Brunch and had a very nice experience! Staff was pleasant. It was clean and organized. The food was good, but I would have liked to see more of a lunch selection of meat. The desserts were excellent. We all loved the history and memorabilia through out the building.
