This restaurant is located in an authentic 1800's fire station, one block east of the main street (State St) through downtown Erie. The historical setting is wonderful, and it allows you to see how firemen lived back in the day of the horse drawn fire fighting equipment. The food here is excellent, and the menu has a very nice selection.

We were so looking forward to our first visit to Pufferbelly on the recommendation of friends. We were there for Easter Brunch. We waited forever for our waitress to appear after being seated & another waitress eventually came & took our drink order. The line for the made to order omelet was so long, that we skipped it & and... More

First time there. Service was inadequate. Food tasted good, sweet potatoes cold as ice, plate hot as hell, salmon hot. Not sure how that happened, but not on my list as a place I must go again. Young blonde waitress obviously not experienced, should not be waiting tables alone.

Driving from central Ohio to Rochester, NY, we've passed Erie several times, but we had never stopped. After searching on Trip Advisor for a nice restaurant near Erie, we decided to give Pufferbelly a try. We were so glad we did! The building and fire house equipment were fun to see, the staff were very attentive and helpful, and the... More

For many years we had been coming to the Erie area and were introduced to the Pufferbelly. Maryellen and her staff are by far super people. If you are ever in Erie Do Not miss this establishment, as it is an old refurbished fire station. Complete with brass fire pole, as well as other memorabilia.

My son and I were in town to visit Mercyhurst University and decided to check this local place out. The interior is very beautiful and unique as it is housed in a renovated firehouse. There are many pieces of memorabilia, including the jump net, firepole, old hose reels, photos dating back to the late 1800s. The portions were generous and... More

pufferbelly is in a great location down town on a tree lined street surrounded my attractive historical buildings. The building and décor is the best in town. A historical city of Erie fire house with all the trimmings, jump net, historical fire house pictures, fire houses, helmets etc. The food is always tasty and fresh. Service is always prompt and... Loved the setting with the former firehouse. Diverse menu, haddock sandwich, salmon salad and red pepper / veggie sandwich was great. Kids loved the croissant sandwich and pasta. Quick services with a good price tag.
