A good second choice

After attempting another place that happened to be closed for the day, we ended up at zodiac. Food was good and plentiful. Beware of the pancakes. One is definitely enough. It is a cake more than a pancake. At least an inch thick. Was told later the blueberry cakes are really good. I'll put it on... read more

We went to this place because we had a buy one get one free coupon that obviously the owner had printed in the local Erie book. The atmosphere very eclectic & fun to look at. The waitress was thrilled we came specifically to try the pumpkin pancakes, which she said was her grandma's recipe. They were good. The other breakfast... More

A family member just moved to Erie so we're trying out restaurants each time we visit. Already reviewed Taki's, now Zodiac. Short version: Zodiac wins in a TKO with better food and better value. Service at each was good, atmospherses are very different, but equally good in a 50s v. 90s way. The "Greek Sauce" at both places was an... More

I write many reviews as to where i eat. I always discuss the problem with the owner and allow for a ample response. I recently ate here and ordered there banana bread french toast. I ate 2 bites and notified the server that this was not to my liking...only one side dipped, no powered sugar or butter. I felt like... More

The food here is great. They are reasonably priced, homemade and you get plenty for the price. The pancakes (hotcakes) I made 3 meals out of one serving.

If I could give this review 2.5 stars, I would. The atmosphere is great with the 1950s style decorations and homey diner feel. I also doubt you can find better prices for amount of food you get. The only problem is that the food really doesn't taste very good. I ordered the corned beef hash and my wife ordered the... More

Loved this 50 style diner! We ordered the banana bread french toast that was 2 very thick pieces of banana bread with 2 eggs and 2 pieces of meat. We chose the link sausage. The meal came and looked and tasted very good. We did not care for the taste if the sausage. The entire cost of the meal was... More

We met my son; who lives in the Buffalo area here for lunch. It is the halfway point for us. My son also, attended Mercyhurst College, which is a few blocks away. He tells me it was a great weekend spot to have breakfast, after a hard night. Appearance- It is hard to spot, even being Blue. It is a... More

Banana Bread French Toast! - I shouldn't have to say much more than that to get you to go. Definitely in my top three Erie breakfast destinations.

Only in the Erie area are diners spelled "dinor" -- so for this reason alone you need to experience one. This has 50's furnishings and color schemes and full fat food, and you'll likely find folks there who have lived in the Erie area all their lives, so you may get an interesting story or two. I'd suggest going for... More
