Tavern on the hill has an excellent menu and friendly wait staff. They have a bar so you can enjoy a beverage while you wait for your table. I recommend reservations, they always extremely busy!

We go to Tavern On The Hill once, twice a year at most mainly because it is pricey. But it is one of the best places in Central PA to celebrate a special occasion. What sets it apart from many other restaurants is the upscale service. You are treated in a respectful manner by being called "sir" or "madam" not... More

I have been going here for various occasions over 15 years and NEVER had the experience I had for my 50th birthday. There were fruit flys all over the place...even in our salads. The owner didn't do a thing to make us more comfortable. He only wrote if the bar bill which was only $20.00 out of our $175 meal.... More

Good service, nice dining space, good food but vey expensive. A destination for special occasions. On the evening that I was there the place was almost empty. The prices might have something to do with that. When one can buy a steak and salad for twenty dollars why pay forty.

For central PA, these prices may send some into cardiac arrest. For someone who is from DC/NYC the prices seem reasonable. Once you get over that, the food is quite delicious. The seafood and steaks (veal chop in particular) are first rate. I love the seared Tuna appetizer as well as the beef tip app. Often the daily specials have... More

Offers a traditional menu, serving steaks & pastas. The restaurant has served the area well over many years, but the menu has become dated. Value and price point make it difficult to return except for special occasion. Wines seem overpriced.

We have lived in the area for 25 years and had heard the positive comments about Tavern on the Hill. Needless to say we were not disappointed and would return int the future. Once a month we get together with friends of my wife from Weight Watchers for dinner. February was Tavern on the HIll. The service is exceptional and... More

Hadn't been to Tavern on the Hill in a few years. It is one of the more pricey restaurants in the area so it's usually a special occasion when we go. The place continues to be excellent. We had a blackened tenderloin for an appiteizer that just melted in your mouth it was so tender. for dinner, one of us... More

If you want a special meal and don't mind paying a little extra this is the plce to go. I usually stick with some sort of fish but I have had lamb and beef also. The only thing I have ever seen served that anyone in our group found sub-par was the skate, an easy fish to overcook. But all... More
