Black Gryphon - E-town's Best Kept secret

Unfortunately for the owners this IS E-towns best kept secret. It does not get near the customers it should based on the quality of food and beer selection. Outside of building looks worn and I believe that is one of the reasons people do not stop. Several of our friends have said they can't get... read more

As we drove toward Elizabethtown and passed T.J. Rockwell's, we were amazed at the large number of cars in their lot. What was even more amazing was the lack of cars (and customers) at the Black Gryphon! T.J. Rockwell's is okay, but they don't hold a candle to the quality of The Black Gryphon. If you want a piece of... More

My experience has not been great at the Black Gryphon. First, it has odd hours and days when it is open. The last time we were in for happy hour/dinner we were charged full price at the bar for half price drinks and small plates, when we brought it to the bartenders attention, he told us, when we came in... Arrival experience says it needs some attention- but I think you will like it. They have a huge beer list. I am a fan of craft beer and have been since the late 1980's. I have to admit I did not have experience with 80% plus of the beers on the list. I do not know if that is good... More

Love this place! The food is so different and delicious, the menu changes every season so the chef/owner Toeny can use the freshest local ingredients he can find. The daily happy hour small plate specials are great as well as the beer and wine selections. Dave, the bartender makes a mean cocktail-their martini's and specialty drinks are awesome. This is... If you are looking for some thing non-traditional, this is the place. The menu has an English flair and the selection of beers is impressive.

The Black Gryphon is a fine alternative dining spot: It's not a franchise; not a chain. It's a family owned, family run establishment without pretense. We arrived, a party of 8 including children, to find a table waiting and Eric, our server, anxious to please. The beer selection is truly impressive with on-tap choices that are overwhelming. Eric was a... More

Great food and delicious beers and ciders on tap! I came here once alone and once with my boyfriend and both times, excellent service.
