Really lovely quality food, beautifully presented, sufficient choice to suit all tastes and generous portions. Nice selection of vegetables to accompany food. Was part of a large group but each table ordered and had their food served at the same time, very difficult to manage when restaurant full for Mothers Day, but it was timed to perfection. On a damp... More

First visit at this pub, lovely atmosphere, open fire which was welcoming on such a cold day, open views of the countryside, very popular for meals so it is worth booking your table in advance.

This is a great pub and always busy, the food is excellent and sourced locally. They always seem to put themselves out to help and accommodate any dietary requirements, the food is cooked to order so sometimes there are slight delays in getting food but, the wait is worth it.

The pub is ok - but that's about it. They run out of beer and don't seem to worry about putting any more on. It is not brilliantly kept either. Food is ok - big portions but they seem to struggle if they are slightly busy. They are always running out of stuff, both times we ate there it was... More

Came here recommended by our hosts at nearby Fairshaw Rigg B and B. Had great meals, sausage and gammon. Both delicious. Bit limited on choice and some things were not available but we would go back again. Great setting. Friendly staff and you can't beat a real fire!!

Took some good friends here on a Saturday night. Excellent as usual. We will be back. Nothing more to add.

An old pub in the countryside of Northumberland this Inn is a real find. Some 40 mins from Newcastle but worth the journey. Fantastic menu especially the specials board. Good selection of wines and beers. Well worth detouring to find it.

This was our second visit to this pub and as before we had a very good meal with excellent service. The same still applies, go hungry the portions are huge. Not an easy place to find but worth the effort. Special thanks to Jack who was extremely helpful.

We turned up without a reservation and the staff kindly made room for the two of us. This is a traditional pub in a lovely rural setting and our Sunday Dinners were huge and tasty. Bog Pie, HAS to be tried - wonderful suet pastry full of tender beef and big enough to feed a small family! Looking forward to... More

Today we have been for a sunday lunch at the Carts Bog. I cannot stress strongly enough how lovely this little pub was. The food was gorgeous and the staff were so accomodating, we had a small baby with us and a dog and that was no trouble at all for the staff. We were even given a little doggie... More
