A cosy inn in a pretty isolated spot but the fact we had to book on a Tuesday night in September shows its popularity. My garlic mushroom starter was superb & I didn't want it to end. The mains were well presented on really hot plates & the signature dish Bog pie was exceptional. Friendly staff & great service made... More

Having not been to Carts Bog for 20+ years meant that this was always going to be a new experience. Good ale on tap along with some of the usual suspects line the excellently decorated interior of this gem set in beautiful Langley. The real star of the show has to be the food though. Delicious deconstructed prawn cocktails formed... More

We called into the Carts Bog on the chance of having an early evening meal. Despite all tables being reserved they very kindly offered us a table in the bar mentioning that it would be needed within about 90 minutes - plenty of time for us to eat. The food was superb and the staff were very attentive and efficient.... More

A very pleasant stop off in the Northumberland area. This pub is very popular, so expect to wait quite some time for food as it is prepared after ordering. We sat outside with the dog and enjoyed our meal in the sun with a lovely view. As the designated driver, I didn't try any of the beer but my husband... More

Ventured up to the Carts Bog Inn on a quiet Tuesday evening, good job we booked in advance as it was quite busy, always a good sign. We got seated a lot earlier than we'd booked which was nice but we yapped so much we probably didn't order any earlier haha. Bit disappointed there was none of the famous Bog... More

We were recommended to try the Carts Bog Inn by the owners of the nearby Fairshaw Rigg B&B, and it proved to be just what we wanted: good pub food in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Two of us chose the Bog Pie, which was meaty and substantial - I recommend it!

After yomping up and down the hills at the nearby Plankey Mill we arrived at this splendid country pub. The bog pie was magnificent, succulent pieces of beef and mushrooms in a heavenly gravy. The Whitby Scampi was also cooked to perfection. Our spaniel dog was also welcomed in the bar area. Service was spot on.

I rang on the morning to make a booking for that afternoon, and they were very helpful, got our party of 3 in at a nice slot. I think they do sunday lunches at two different slots early/late as they closed at 4pm. Car park was nice and full so that's a good sign, it was our first visit there.... More
