Where everyone knows your name!

Let's just say right off the bat that Stemies has the best soup you ever had! The she crab is awesome! Add to that the wonderful service, luscious salads and the fact that the servers remember you and call you by name, and you have a great local experience! Lovely stone walls, great drink selection... read more

Very small place, no reservations accepted but do take call aheads. We were all very pleased with the sandwiches and dinners that were ordered. Will go back again.

I went there to enjoy myself and had to be offended with political propaganda. The things Fox news considers news is just kool-aid. There were blaring headlines that the democrats are trying to do something against Christmas, and impeaching our president, and just right wing propaganda. 40 percent of the people still approve of Obama, so why must we be... We were charged for extra dressing. My medium steak was well done. Ran out of bake potatoes and Samuel Adams October fest beer (waitress said). Interestingly enough, other people who came in after us had no problem getting bake potatoes.

Ate at Stemies for the first time last night (1-Nov 2014) and we will return. Now this is a local place is a charming log stone building. We were not treated at the door but we did not expect to be. We spotted 4 seats at he bar and head directly to them before they got taken. A local offered... More

We visit the tavern often and it is always cozy with great food. It is a great neighborhood locale and a welcome addition with the Stem family at the helm. Having known the Stem family for many years, they have made the place what it is today- the best ever and a happy place!!!

I love this place if I want a good drink to talk to a friend. LOVE IT. They have a great martini list and they are ALL delicious! The staff is great - friendly and helpful and fun. The food is also very good! I love the charm and warmth of this place.

Went there on Monday night but the tavern was severely understaffed. The only visible help was the waittress and occasionally the bartender. Sat at a table that had not been bussed and had to wait 15 minutes (and three stop by's) before it was bussed. The waitress who bussed the table was also getting drinks for her patrons from the... No doubt this establishment could be bigger, BUT, that might take away some of it's atmosphere. The food is terrific, and you can go either way, standard burger-like fare or exotic. Portions are plentiful and tasty. Drinks are outstanding! In the fall, the pumpkin martini is great, now I'm hooked on the Mangotini's. Tried the Tiramisu tini and it was... More
